  8. I think the point that the OP was trying to make, is that banning Handguns does not stop handguns being used in crime. It will not stop people getting shot with Handguns in the UK.................Which is surely why they were banned in the first place... to prevent them being used to hurt or kill people.................. Guns are still in society and just as before, the majority of crimes and killings will be commited with Ilegally held pistols/firearms, not legal firearms.. Its just one more civil liberty taken from the people of this country, that the rest of the world wouldnt tolera
  9. +1 for Hot Fuzz and Sean of the Dead.
  10. Having lived on the Tay for nearly 10 years now, I felt it was time to give the local inhabitants some earache... Now I am am not a wildfowler, but I do enjoy the occasional jaunt, when freinds, with more experience, offer to act as chaperone. Also, I own lurchers not retrievers, so I need folk with suitable dogs as guides. I am fortunate enough to have a boat, so we decided to launch at Newburgh and sail to the islands on the Northside, towards Dundee. We were in the water by about 3.15 pm, and stuff was allready moving about. I had received advice from an experienced wildfo
  11. Me...... is the simple answer. I was out ferreting on Saturday, just a mix of nets, long nets and bolted straight to the dog. Now my lurcher is very focussed on rabbitting, to the point of obsessive. Anyhow, we were on new land, and there was a bit of barb wire about and I made the decision not to run her, which went down like a lead ballon. We moved off from the Barbed wire area, to a clear area, and I removed the leash, giving her a free roam. As you would expect, we got the bolt, (A missed hole) and the dog gave chase, which is her job.....afterall. I herd a yelp and

  13. I've butchered quite a few deer in close succession over the last month, Most shot with different ammo from different folks ,243's The most bruising, with out any shaddow of doubt, was from chest shot Ballistic tips. Its not to say I dont use them, I do, but limit to head/neck shots. (58gr Norma) Just so acccurate in my gun. If I can H/N shoot, they get left if this is the ammoi I have on board. My fox load id 87gr BTHP's........absolutley no way would this get used on a Chest shot.. Head/ Neck only 100gr Sierra soft points were the the best for least meat damage.. I also

  16. I'd also suggest you try a pair of Opticrons, and compare them to the others you're looking at, you'll be surprised. Got an 8x42 BGA SE iMagic pair and find them fantastic, I think they were £329 when I bought them. I'd also try opticron (higher budget models) as with JOhn, I'm more than happy with my. Got mine from my father when he died... just about the only useful thinghe had

Agreed.......... Its all about the phyc........ You just dont come near my house unless she knows you.... She is excellent in the family environment as well.....
  18. GSD's will exhibit protective behaviour without much training.......... Ours will let no one in the house, unless we intoduce them to the dog. It will not let anyone come between her and my wife, and if you try, you get told (strangers that is) She knows her job, (as we expect of her) and asks nothing but love in return. Although she has never tried to bite anyone, her body language is a suitable deterrent to put most folk off.
