Hard to say Stabs but more than likely its down to the kc breeders as they have changed the shape of a lot of breeds as they breed for the look of a dog and if a certain shape wins the show thats the shape they will breed i have heard the roach back put down to the introduction of bedlington blood but if you look at the early working bedlingtons they don't have the roach back . I cant see that having a roach back would make a whippet a faster racer .If having a roached back made a whippet run faster then all hard blood whippets would be roached as they are bred for racing and speed and not man

I think it says in the whippet racing rules mark that your dog must resemble a whippet so if you shaved its long coat off then it would -

My Deerhounds new pups welped on the 7th she had 9 but lost one a big dog pup was still born she had 4 dogs and 4 bitches the sire is from Doxhopes lines i am keeping a bitch pup but if our lass got her way it would be a dog.

Me and Tomo had a look out with the ferrets today it kept fine all day we have ferreted this farm a few times but never got to do the bit we did today pleased we did as it looks a real good spot for next season we knew that we would bump into some young rabbits today but it wasn't that bad had a few digs but only one awkward one under some bolders .Did alsorts of ferreting purse netting longnets indoor ferreting and left the nets off for the dog and had some good runs .We lost the knocker box but Tomo retraced his foot steps and found it. As we were packing up Tomo seen some roe in some trees

Nice one Tomo shame about the chewed line .Had a look out with the lamp last night needed a couple of rabbits to feed to the deerhound i gave the old black&white dog a look out got 2 but should have caught 5 the first field put the lamp on with the red filter on and a fox was coursing a rabbit was a good run watched it chase it over the top of the beach banks.

Me and Tomo had a look out ferreting today the wind never stopped blowing and was canny cold first thing the wind made hearing what was going on underground harder to follow .the first warren was a taste of what was to come all day some of the rabbits reluctant to bolt so the spade was out a fair bit .It looked like some warrens had been ferreted as there was holes that had been back filled .Tomo left the nets off one warren and Tara ran the rabbits and made some good catches one of Tomo's ferrets got some bad bites off something that wouldn't bolt could of been a rat or a stoat we had a canny

We had a day ferreting today it was -6 and really frosty got down the dales and Tomo phoned the keeper to see where to go he told us to do 2 woods first wood we only caught a few rabbits and a rat so we moved to the other spot got 5 out of one warren and 2 out of a building netted up the next warren dropped the ferrets in no rabbits bolted but a stoat in ermine showed went back in then bolted up a tree so we moved on the next warren had another stoat in this bolted and Tara caught and killed it but took a few nips in the process the ferrets were on a kill when we dug down it was some young rab
