    Neoprene iPad or tablet cases from the pound shop, then get the wife to cut and sew. I've had her make a few but I always end up loosing them. They can be made into buddy bottle covers too.

    If positioned correct they should not spring open, unless they are cheap Chinese made. I would look at the quality and try to get a little more strain on them. Perhaps reinforce the top catch where you are running the screws through the laminate of the ply. Tidy looking box

    I mount mine in front of the front mount depending which light I use, but the personal position isn't important. Just as long as the beam is focused and doesn't give you any glare in the scope. Or reflection off the barrel or silencer.
