    ..........It's always good to be back! Been working away so tonight was the first real chance to get out for a quick run around. It's good to see the young rabbits are coming on and this year compared to last there is a healthy population in certain places. I wasn't out long,just more to cast the eye over the place for when we hit it with the lamp. A few were taken with rimmy and the rest with the rapid. But I now have an idea where to be looking when we land with the lamps. Roll on the early dark nights.

    No mate I'm a size small, so they have to be custom made.

    If they are as bad as all are claiming which I don't doubt, the socks can be cut down to make rifle stock butt covers for holding small lion battery packs or buddy bottle covers. The missus makes all sorts for me from neoprene laptop or ipad cases from the pound shop. A good woman and a sewing machine. Jobs a good one.

    Safe style every time skot. You buy one.................!!! Yes they are Simmons. I gave about £230 ish for mine and its a Philippines model. BAR are selling them for £150.

    It depends what your into stu and obviously budget. I have a WTC on mine 3.5-10x50 and I get on fine with it. Come way down in price since I first bought mine but nice glass for the money. Very clear for lamping with no internal glare. No loss of zero and I have had it over 10 years. Not a mildot recticule but it suits me.

    In perfect honesty. No! I have seen the odd one or two made from burrs. As long as it looks tight. Has no splits and is finnished well. I really wouldn't worry. How big is this thing??!

    I have come across brand new AA dumping air due to sticky valves. I know BSA ain't having good reviews at the moment but I don't believe any brand is faultless.

    Most hard wood knots " seasoned " will be fine. The majority of woods used for stocks are very tight grain so won't open much. Plus any knots that would cause defects or concern would have been rejected by QC before your stock would have been made. If the knot in question has a split or any opening then I would be concerned as that's a direct opening for moisture. Likleyhood is that any suspect knots discovered during the manufacturing process will have been sealed and filled. And the sorounding wood well oiled for the Finnish.
