Next time, get an old birco boiler if you can, hot, but not boiling water( you should only just be able to put your hand in it ) , and a bin of cold water next to it....
Dip them for about 10 seconds in hot, then straight into the cold, and you can pluck right away. There's less mess as the feathers are wet and clag together, and you "shouldn't" get any skin tears!
