  8. Hi doxy, no I dont have photoshop - I just use the photo bucket thing to crop the pics. I'm not very good at anything more technical, I just dont understand it yet.
  9. I think people do it for the thought that they are rescuing hens from a really shitty life, and a needless young death WRF! Battery hens are young, they've just had such a crappy start that they look old. I'm getting 20 rescue birds in the next few weeks, I have done before, and I will do again & again.
  10. Took these a couple of days ago ... I'm getting around my camera a bit better now, but its still very much trial and error! Does anyone else use an Olympus? Mummy Daddy Who's lookin'... ... at who?

    women in chat

I stepped inside the chat room for a few minutes a while ago, but got all because I didn't know anyone ... I'd be up for some girly chat though
  14. Mmmm, all seems a bit "pointless" ahem...... I could think of far better things to eat, and wouldn't even want to try one, just to see.
  15. Beautiful as ever Doxy When I was a little girl, I thought my grandads aviary birds had escaped... turns out I saw a charm of goldfinch
  16. Excellent work! Cant beat home reared chucks Next time, get an old birco boiler if you can, hot, but not boiling water( you should only just be able to put your hand in it ) , and a bin of cold water next to it.... Dip them for about 10 seconds in hot, then straight into the cold, and you can pluck right away. There's less mess as the feathers are wet and clag together, and you "shouldn't" get any skin tears!
  17. Funnily enough, we ate the last of our muscovey ducks on Sunday! They were about 6 motnhs old, and had been free ranged outside till the last 6 - 8 weeks. I bought them in the stable to pig out and get a better fat covering on them. They were amazingly delish! The breast meat has a texture not dissimilar to a firm pate! I'm deffinatley going to be rearing this years 'lings for meat
  18. I thought it was a buzzard but I'm not so sure, cant quite see!
