  1. Lets all chill out .let the fecking lot in, who cares.Well i do and theres wrong and theres right .If it stops this type of post from getting the BIG UP then its worth it .
  2. You are all missing the point here and that is one of time, place and regulariy .The quarry we hunt relies on senses we know nothing about to stay alive .Besides these senses ,there is an understanding of timescale and danger linked to what causes that danger . Rabbits may not appear to be blessed with much brain power at times but when the penny finally drops that thier brethren fall over or are caught by a dog at the same time after dark, from the same direction and by the same bright light ,no matter what colour ,they react and run in way before a chance at a kill ,they are then shy to the
  3. Personally ,i feel strongly that anyone starting in rifle shooting should begin at the beginning.I mean with a .22lr.Its a very big step up from airgun and shotty and opens your eyes on the safety issue .Your feo can see you are responsible ,having used this for a while and the next re-issue ,you can apply for the .22 cf .This again is a huge leap up, not seen by some who take the deer courses and go straight in with a .243 or larger .You will learn more by going this road than any other .Fast passes are wrong in my eyes but its all about the money for some .Good luck in your application mat
  4. Not a pop at you mate in any way BUT would those dogs do a coon single handed or is that how you work them .The test of a terrier is to work it single handed .Most terriers will give an account of themselves when doubled up ,even russels, lol. If thats the way its done over there then fair play but it means nothing to most of us over here .
  5. If you like malforms then this might float your boat ,a full peruke.Shot in Wiltshire 2006.
  6. John. You havnt time to post on here mate .Get out as there will be another take its place .lol.
  7. Too late ,bought the 6-9 will do a review soon.
  8. Off thread a bit i know but id like to share a story about the rspca that was a bit weird and worrying, i thought at the time .I used to keep ferrets,b.o.p as well as the usual dogs ,lurchers ,terriers .I also ,from time to time will take in an injured bird animal and try to mend /hack it back .Im not alone in this im sure and many people will agree that country sports go hand in hand with a love of nature .I recently had a kestrel which i released having been hit by a car and someone ,probably a neighbour had informed the rspca . Anyway ,before that id been given a mink kit from a dubious s
  9. The bipod is a 12-26 mate .Excellent for kneeling and sitting but the prone is what has always worried me .I use it like that but it brings my right shoulder off the ground too far sometimes for a steady shot .Just invested in a 6-9 to hopefully solve that.Very good for long grass and sitting out but you cant have it all.
  10. Blacks joining BNP,you are having a laugh .Government may legislate all they want ,you people may read into it what you want but it wont happen .Have you not heard what the BNP is about .Its about re-establishing white British rule, White British values and jobs for white British people .Get a grip and read into it no further than what ive wrote .If these aims arnt for you then dont vote BNP,simple .
  11. Some cracking headsets there mate .Southern England?
  12. After taking Martin one evening last week , to a place i have and seeing 9 deer ,i thought i better have a look around myself .Its a market garden with many types of cropping ,brassicas mainly but root crops too .Arrived at dawn to a very dark and cloudy outlook.Changed the route from the one i usually do as the wind was wrong for that .Saw a fox curled up in a plough furrow ,well we saw each other at the same time really and off he went but in no particular hury .They arnt shot here as they help keep down the vermin and do no damage to the fields .I glassed a trio of does up against a hedge
  13. Qualiy posting there mate .We would have to watch out for otters if we tried that around us .Otters are more commen than mink now in the South West.
  14. I would say you have the makings of a good terrierman mate.Just dont get trigger happy with a dog in still in the hole . Not easy on your own but get in the habit of seperating dog and fox with a spade .The old possum playing fox still haunts me from my younger days but dosnt happen now .
  15. I think all stalkers aim to get as close as possible ,foxhunter included but its in us all from time to time to push yourself to see what we can do .The 100 zero seems to play on folks mind as to being the limit of the rifle but ive found myself thats only the tip of things .I shot a cwd at 320 last year from a rock steady rest and never alowed any for drop .A clean kill in the middle of the chest was the result with a witness by my side whos also a member on here .Modern stalking rifles ,scopes and ammo are capable of far more than we currantly accept. As said ,the game is called stalking and
  16. Very pleasing shot mate but ive seen you do it before ,silver medal 2008! Foxes a bit shy i take it .
  17. Have to agree with the last post . Not all the cwd stalking is pay by the day .Still a lot of farmers want rid of them ,knock on doors and stop whining.Be thankful that you have free stalking of any sort . As long as people are up front about thier costs i have no problem with it but i once shot a red stag to be told that it would cost me £200 to have the headset .This was after agreeing there was no trophy fees involved .I had the last laugh as the antlers left with me without him knowing
  18. 1 THING YOUR'E WELL WRONG ABOUT IS GETTING YOUR QUARRY, No1 PRIORITY IS GETTING THE DOG,SAFETY OF THE TYKE COMES BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE. THE QUARRY COMES 2ND. JMO. Dont dig much then mate .
