    I dont even bother trying to call now as its a total waste of time but i have called one by clucking like a chicken. What time of day was it foxdropper? Mid morning for the first and mid afternoon the second mate .Like you said though ,if they are call shy then you wasting your time .Better to do it right first time .

    Agreed mate .Have you tried the green or blue filters .Had very good results from both with foxes used to the white light .

    I take it airguns are frowned upon in the States .Stange when you can hunt with muzzle loader .All about tradition though isnt it .Do you do any bow hunting mate ,now that is something i would love to try .Been to Florida a few times and mean to try moonlight boar shooting next time .ATB ,FD .

    Some time ago i had a call from a rather upset lady who runs a chicken farm .I did the foxing at the time and still do .She explained that the automatic shutters had failed to close on shed one so a man was despatched to sort it .He,on his arrival had seen a fox chasing chickens around the stoned up area outside the shed and eventually chased one bird into the shed .He had shut the shutters quickly thinking he had done a good job but yes youve guessed it .I arrived to find the lady and farmhand in deep discussion about his future on the farm and the doors still shut .I brought the .410 and the

    If thats the case then i oppoligise for being nieve.I can only comment on what im told at my own dealers .Maybe the fact that i dont have the exams means im obliged to take the pluck in ,something that ive not considered but then again the pluck appears with all carcasses whether the shooter has the ticket or not ?.Do spot checks not apply to you boffins ?If the vet asked for the pluck to a beast which they ARE entitled to do whether you are a boffin or not ,would you be able to supply it or would you take in any old pluck just to satisfy him .     Went to a place last night where i do the ongoing fox control .A place i go whenever i like ,no need to call the farmer .Pulled up in the crunchy snow and got the kit together .A shine with the green filter made the glare off the snow worse so a straight white light was used .Got myself out in the middle of a large field and sat down.Let things quieten for a few minutes then started calling .A vixen shouted not far away and i think it was her that ran across the top of the field ,unimpressed by my efforts A pair of eyes appeared exactly on her tracks and a gentle squeak had his attention .An

    Bollocks, Maybe things are done differently in your neck of the woods but if the dealer gets a vets inspection,which is often down here ,the pluck needs to be available for his scruteny.If he finds something which the less trained eye does not and you havnt individually marked the pluck , then your whole consignment is condemned .Simple ,even for someone like me who has no deer qualifications at all .Selling for cash is old school too and the mark of a dodgey dealer who will take anything ,no traceability.
