  1. Just for the record mate ,a type is not a breed ie Russel ,Lakeland. Dont know how old you are mate but where im from the breeds have always been just that ,seperate breeds.Within each breed there are types which is enough to be dealing with let alone going across to the unknown .A Russel man is just that and so on .A lot of people in this game will spend a lifetime messing about with crosses of various sorts whereas they could have achieved success with sticking to a breed and getting to know it inside out .Breeding best to best within a type will produce a stamp of terrier recognisable by th
  2. Cracking outing mate ,you did well to get that beast .
  3. Took the lad down to one of my farms where there is an ongoing problem with feral pigeons coming from the nearby town centre and, settling and breeding .They were in the covered yard on the rsj's and stayed put as the beam lit them up .Got all present and finished with 8 .
  4. Exactly -primary producers exemption applies to most of us .
  5. If you read what Deker has wrote then you will see that hes right .I believe what hes saying is that paperwork is not a legal requirement to take deer to a dealer, although some paperwork has to be filled out to provide traceability of the carcass. It is widely believed that every stalker needs the much criticised dsc 2 to be able to present a carcass via a hunter I.D to a dealer which is bullshit .All that is needed is a name, current address linked to the tag wrapped around the leg of the beast via the weight, where shot form. Which basically makes a mockery of the dsc does it not and rightl

  8. Why do people put themselves under such presseure to do something they have done for years without.Totally agree about the electrician bullshit and the deer qualifications are going the same . If they dont bring out a part 3 to this fiasco soon then i'll be very surprised covering the publics reaction and public relations, more money for old rope. Cant you people see what harm this is doing to the sport ,undermining years of experience in favour of a piece of paper and a hole in the wallet . The sad fact is if a test become mandatory then you can bet your last quid it will be an extra to the

  20. Had the invite to try for a buck last Saturday ,down in not so sunny somerset. In fact ,first light was just like a winters day although not cold ,constant drizzle of the type that gets right in you . Arrived at Locals at 4.15 am for the journey of 45 minutes to his ground to coincide with daybreak .Spot on timing and we were lead out in position for a call just as the first true rays of light broke through the drizzle .As visabilty got better we saw a mature doe run up a hillock away from us,stop and look behind her, followed shortly by a young 4 pointer and good luck to him .They totally ign
