  1. I too would of liked to have seen them boiled out propper but the dogs have learnt to get up on the garden table and reshaped the semi prepared heads .Short cuts now and i mean short .
  2. Really gets my back up when folks kill for trophies only ,lol.Maybe just maybe but at least you dont have any dogs to solve that for you [private joke],lol.Another good buck that probably had my name on it ,bites the dust to a casual messer Try and arrange a pass for next week mate ,ive something special to show you , not pervy honestly.
  3. Still in the pre rut stage here mate but the signs are good from what ive seen of bagging a few more before its all over Edited to say that today i saw what is probably the biggest buck ive ever seen ,just and i mean just over the boundary from some permission i have so a calling session is on the cards next weekend i think .
  4. Farmer called to say they had moved a few sheds today and could i come over with a team of dogs to mop up any rats in the shit left behind.No-one available so me and my lad went over with the dogs ,two pats and a lurcher to see what we could do .The shit is only a foot deep under the free range sheds and the farmer moves it into a heap with a loader allowing the dogs to take any rats that flee .First shed held a god amount with the dogs ,who i must admit are a bit over weight this summer ,doing a good job of control. Finished this shed in under an hour with 138 rats .The next shed showed no si
  5. Had a mate down from up country to photograph a few bucks .Unfortunately the rut isnt in full swing yet and the deer were loath to participate .All day Friday ,calling at 3 different farms with no success at all .Friday evening however Martin joined us and i managed to shoot a buck that was put out of a wood nearby .Martin was the mover ,although he didnt know it The 6 pointer wandered out infront of us and after a bit of moving about on my knees with the extended bipod in long grass,i had him through the neck at about 40 yds .A good buck im sure you'll agree with very dark stained antlers .
  6. Rut is starting here now thankfully .Good morning out mate .
  7. I could picture that mate from the description, helped all the more by me having been there.Very good buck that mate .
  8. In fact mate ,respect to you for describing them as what they are and not perspective digging dogs .Take no notice of the twats that want to bicker ,do your own thing and f**k the rest .Good luck with the sale .
  9. Not the same ones mate but a shame none the less .
  10. Still nothing in Wiltshire and trust me ,Id know .
  11. Personally i wouldnt fish a dead bait on a float for the reason mentioned .The float needs weighting down and there is too much room between the weight and trebles for a swallow .Personally ,and this is just what works for me ,i free line a dead bait on a bite alarm that works both ways ,backwards and forwards as not all do and with drop back indicators .Tighten to the bait and set up the alarm .Nothings moving without you knowing about it .
  12. Maybe if the Poole and Bournemouth dog whisperer was shouting at the time ,it wouldnt have happened.Fair play to the fox i say and one less bag rider to boot .
  13. I would say the car and mower culls more deer a year than most stalkers .
  14. Im from central Wiltshire and know a fair few people but no-one yet seems to have heard of this fella .Possibly an off shoot of the know defunct' Marlborough downs rabbit clearance society '.This dosnt mean hes in anyway useless but it does say to me that hes a chancer in the business and probably wont last long .Not one to stir as you know, but does anyone else recognise any of the pics?.Ive e-mailed him for prices but no response yet
  15. Had the first tentative call yesterday evening with no success at all bearing in mind i had called 3 by the same date last year .Id seen no action but the urge to try is stronger than that .Got myself into position under a bush ,rifle on sticks and wind in my face .I was sure that if a buck did show he would emerge from woodland to the side of a patch of corn but that wasnt to be .What did show was a pair of this years well advanced kids that only served to spur on the calling in the misplaced belief that the doe was off fornicating as it were .The session over, i made myself known to the pair
  16. The start of the fishing season has seen a rise in the rat traffic into my lockup due to me having spilt a bag of groundbait i suspect but by setting a brace of fens just inside the door i am getting somewhere now and not seen or heard any sign in a week.Trapping used to be a big part of my life so its good to keep the eye in so to speak .
  17. Looks to be a heavy body weight there mate ,you had help carrying it out i suspect being of slight build as you are . Speak soon .
  18. Excellent as usual Hanna. The fact hes being fed will keep him around but the urge to wander will get the better of him soon .Make the most of him now .
  19. Very nice buck there mate ,good result.
  20. Just like to say that no fish were harmed in the taking of the pic before someone has to run it down ,all fish returned alive and well quickly by 3 more anglers and myself .Had a day on our local water today on the bream .Feeder fishing with worm as hook bait and maggots and corn in the mix .I like to use the maggots alive as i think it helps to keep the shoal infront for longer as they have to grub for the maggots in the silt .Started at 7 am and finished at 4pm with a guessed weight of 220 lb for 72 fish .No need to ball in here as its best to use the feeder to keep things tight .Fish went
