  1. Photo shopped for the gullible .last pic is true though .Had a few like it here .Foxes are never as big as first thought though.A 20 pounder is a big fox .
  2. Shooting one summers evening with the .22 and mate back ended a rabbit which struggled to thge hedge .I ran in to get it same time as a badger came out to grab it .For a second or two we had a tug of war but he realised hius mistake and was gone .I put it down to this was the field we generally did the cleaning in at the end of the session .
  3. Best post yet mate ,after all this is England and ain't no black in the Union Jack .
  4. Cheaper the box ,less the depth it picks up but still fine for most terrier work .
  5. Youll be judging at crufts then Neil .Anything poodle like lol.Hopefully the resistance will be strong .Better stock up on shampoo and talc though just in case .
  6. Don't like approaching staffies either .Walking terriers this afternoon and a women with a handy looking staff coming other way .All off lead .Pup runs up to it and hackles go up on staff ,pups mum running in so time to gather all up as she's feisty at best .4 terriers on staffy not good .
  7. Who cares ,foreign c**ts will never bring us down .This is England .
  8. KC recognition lol. Can't hardly recognise my own some days .Is that really going to happen !
  9. You were lucky being able to tunnel 10/15 feet in running sand .We have it here and you'd be pushed to get 4 foot underneath it .Well done on your rescue though .
  10. First catch your sheep lol.Heard of some right capers trying to select one .
  11. Waste f time going out for them here ,the lurcher boys have suffered here as a result with many giving up .Ferrets are pets only and many released as road kills attest to .Small pockets about but they don't last .
  12. Its honesty thats on the decline and the standards that were once accepted as the norm.[/quote) Your values mate ,not ours .You openly admit to doubling .
  13. In my youth i used to get about with a few lads who used to double all the time and one thing I remember was that on the breakthrough it was always same dog up with quarry ,how substandard can it get for the rest to be behind every time. That dog up front wouldn't stay solo though without the back up .Some pro terrier men were notorious for it years ago and no doubt it still happens today for reasons they try to justify .Says way more about the man if he sees his terriers as individual masters of their game and accepts only the real deal ,single handed workers that stay til dug to ,whatever the
  14. The last few replies to your question are about what lads prefer nowadays but doesn't answer your question about who strives to breed or keep a type that is the same as the same type many, many years ago.IMO only a few men can honestly put their hands on their hearts and say they do and those men are a few Jack Russell breeders and a few Fell breeders. Only those Jack Russell breeders who strive for a JRT who'll work all quarry under ground using it's voice as it's greatest asset and only those Fell breeders who still use a hard terriers to kill or shift foxes from hard to reach places can sa
  15. By noise machine I mean noisey yappers mate, hot air with no backup .Nothing wrong with a baying staying type with the minerals to stay put .
  16. What has been apparent over the years is lads not keeping so many .In our hay day (f**k me feeling old )we had 11 workers between two of us ,with always something to dig to .Havnt seen kennels full of terriers for years ,not workers anyway .Back then we had a hard ,rough type that needed the rest but I've leant towards a more versatile type in recent years .Saying that ,the bitch took a right pasting few weeks back but stayed to it, more the quarry being of a hard type. What I have learnt over the years is that there are dogs that want the aggro and create their own time off and there are those
  17. All well and good that side of things but to share details with a third party ain't on and I'm sure requires your full knowledge as there's no disclaimer on the invoice ,just looked .
  18. Search the web ,there are a few other systems just having got time for links now
  19. Did you make them aware of this debate FD ?[/quote No mate ,but got the feeling they already knew .I asked if my details were likely to be passed on to a third party without my consent to which she asked for my name which I declined, was put on hold for her to come back saying they have to decline to comment on the issue to which I laughed and they hung up .Not what I wanted to hear .I've had issues with them in the past regarding lost box so never gave my name.Anybody knowing Clive Rees well might shed light on any legalities surrounding such a disclosure as I'm sure they are in breach of co
