  1. Lurcher330 I'm fairly sure he dosent mean the dog was barking, a drawing dog who barks at his quarry needs a piece of lead between the ears
  2. Dee, P had a problem with judge's coat, turns out it was his grub. He bought a bag of skinners chicken and rice dog nuts, and after 2 weeks his coat was back in great nick.
  3. Why is the show being run during the season, surely the summer was long enough?
  4. The stuff deemac and pulser are talking about is called noroclox. Apply it under the eye lids every day. Will clear it up in a week
  5. Benzol benzoate , cheap and effectic
  6. Lol scent! I must be a real neandathol
  7. Why would you wean pups with a spoon? What's wrong with a bowl?
  8. Well done scent, good to hear the bitch is doing well for you. Hope she keeps it up
  9. Well done mudd, that's a tester! Fair play to men and dog!
  10. The white toed bitch my mate had was a daughter of tip tim but in fairness she got the white toes and chest off her dam who was bred by brian nuttall
  11. Best bitch I ever dug was a nuttall/booth bitch, she had white on her feet and chest.
  12. Is there such thing as a "PURE" pat? I understand what your getting at tho. But Pure breeds are for show men. The "pure" pats that you are planning to breed to in order to breed the lakie out will more than likely bull, border or lakie in their makeup. Good luck with your breeding plan mate but don't get hung up on the pure thing, put work at the top of the list and use the best dogs available to you
  13. What does it matter if they work well enough. If the pup turns out good enough to breed you will probably always have an occasional blackntan or red lakie type pup in mostly black litters.
  14. Totally agree with busterdog. Young dogs have to learn. Its a long and hard road to becoming a good reliable worker, time and patience needed .
  15. Dunno dude, he dosent look as big. Plus he's not as smooth either!
  16. What is expected off an all rounder?? Kill rats? Bush rabbit, and dig foxes? Then any good digging dog will make an all rounder, but a bushing/ratting terrier won't.
  17. Very nice breeder, but since you've not put any pics of the pups up. Here's one of mine! Lol
  18. I wondered this too . Would be interested to find out how they compare
  19. Ok mate, everyone has their own way, no set rules in this game.
  20. I dissagree, if I had a pup that I kept taking out and trying it week after week when the pup clearly wasn't ready, I would soon get fed up. Then I'd be more likely to make a harsh decission. Due to the amount of "chances" it has had. If mine are not ready then I leave them at home for a month or 6 weeks then try them again. When they are mature enough it will be much easier to enter them. Just my opinion
  21. I showed mine one in a stop end on tuesday, he was a bit nervy at the start but soon started baying and when his confidence grew he darted forward and took hold then drew his quarry out. All pups are different some start easier than others. Next time out try her first when you get a mark with an older dog. If she dosent go to it, then dig it with an older dog and Let her follow it back into the earth to try to dig her. But be patient, some take more time than others.all the best with the bitch mate
