  1. he's an ugly one fionn, hope he does the biz for you tho
  2. John i posted this on another site, a non hunting site, i was shocked at the views that the tree hugging anti fukers had. alot of them said that they didnt believe it was a fox, some said the parents could have been covering for the family dog and used a fox as a scapegoat. others said that they believed the parents were mistaken and that it was actually a dog! even tho both parents got a close up view with the light on. i couldnt believe my eye's when reading the replys. they just dont want mr fox to be protrayed in a bad light at all.there attitude is disgusting. poor babbies, i hope they
  3. TIME, the pup will take an interest when its ready
  4. impossiable to say, but he is a staff cross so if your were told he was staff/russell then its probably true
  5. Plummers? I know of many that have been nicked in Ireland - perhaps its not so often an occurence in the UK but in the North West it has happened. Dave I am a newbie but if thats whats plummers do is that not ok? What is the defintion of a 'working dog'? I once fostered a long legged staff/pit who was bred to fight (and cost thousands) and that was to be his 'work' - he was however stolen then passed to a rescue where I fostered it for a while - never bothered anything including my kids yet its work was to fight to the death? If I fancy a plummer for vermin and walkin
  6. just laughed my fukin ass off!!! " a tendency to get nicked due to their superior working ability" that just cheered me up!!
  7. just for the record it was talking about pups off digging dogs, i didnt feel the need to state that in my original post as i posted this thread in the EARTHDOGS & WORKING TERRIERS section. i have sold the odd pup from time to time but the last two litters i bred i gave 12 pups free of charge to working terrier lads.i did sell an 8 month old pup recently but let it go for £100.i dont see a problem with selling the odd pup for ordinary working mans prices. £100/150 is loads to pay for a pup IMO
  8. smelly dog you have misunderstood my reason for posting, im not asking for your opinion on wheither you think anyone should or should not buy/sell a pup, i was asking how much people are prepared to pay for a decent pup as i personally think 200+ quid is way too much. if you wouldnt buy a pup then you have no answer to my question so dont stick your nose in with your bullshit opinion. im not looking to make money from breeding dogs, i breed for myself and my mates
  9. i was just reading the nuttall's zulu thread and the price of pups came up. the price of a nuttall pup seems to be £200/£250. i bought a pup off him 3 years ago, it was £200 then. now i was wondering how much you guys think a decent pup of working breeding is worth at 6/8 weeks old. not just nuttalls, im talking any working bred terrier pups?? how much would you be happy to pay?
  10. bumper season mate, had a couple of lows but it was our best ever season overall, most digs and new dogs started
  11. ok what way she bred? where did you get her and how many digs she had mate?good to hear she is going well for ya.how was your season
  12. any better pictures of your bitch its hard to get an idea of how she looks from those pics
  13. when the season comes back round again, just take him out on a few digs and if he is interested he will do his thing, if its not in him there is nothing you can do about it
  14. a bright forward strongly built pup,the mouth wouldnt bother me, if the biggest most out going pup in the litter was undershout id still pick it
  15. the dogs sound like they are shite , no excuses for them, they are just no good
  16. good russells are not easy to find, there is very very few around my part of the world.
  17. nice pups by the way, good luck with the litter
  18. no need to post pics like that, looks very bad. i understand these things have to be done but the images dont need broadcasting
  19. Not trying to put you or your dogs down Dev, but that works out at roughly 10 digs per dog all season which isn't a lot in fairness, wouldn't you rather have 2 dogs with 20 odd digs a piece? 3 of them only started this season, one pup had 3 digs towards the end of season, 2 other pups had 7 digs each, my bitch had 12 digs as she missed the first part of the season due to pups.and my dog had 19 digs. dogs are easily lost rabbit hunter as im sure you know,if i had only 2 with 20 odd digs each then i would now be down to a single terrier as i lost my dog after his last dig. it suits me much
  20. IMO the best digging dogs are "mixing" type terriers, dogs that are sensiable enough to use their voice but brave enough to stand their ground and use their teeth when they need to.
  21. i count every dig im on.all our dogs are bred the same and we hunt together every week so why not count them all? 48 digs to my own 5 dogs
