  1. we are very lucky with the amount of permission we have in fairness. 111digs in total between 14 of our terriers
  2. 21 digs is not much of a season, thats less than a dig a week, plenty of lads getting that many digs per month
  3. my bitches are @18-20.lbs and my dogs are 22-25.lbs.
  4. if he uses K.C lakeland to "tidy his strain" then he sounds like he is focused on winning rosetes at terriers shows rather than producing prper digging dogs. and he said he seen rubbish produce great dogs?? why was the rubbish bred from and not PTS like it should have been? im not trying to have a go but you have come on boasting and talking out of your arse.
  5. Very true that first part but equally has a worker to worker bred dog ever failed to live up to expectation? Y.I.S Leeview of course
  6. one fox each means nothing mate, i wouldnt get too excited and start blowing about your hard kc workers just yet.they might work out fine for you and i hope they do but there is a good chance they will soon get sick of it.worker to worker is the only way to give yourself the best chance of getting something decent
  7. "why is 12 small"?, 14/15 is average size so less than that is small and bigger than that is big. im not saying there's anything wrong with 12 inch terriers
  8. dont know dude, as i said im too young to have been there,
  9. years ago when locaters were not around, dogs were doubled up more often than not.most dogs are worked single handed now and with the locater a dog can be entered in big earths that in the old days were undiggable for the simple reason that it was too hard to find the terrier in these vast earths. i think modern terriers are easily as good as the "terriers of the old days" if not better. but thats just my opinion as im too young to make a direct comparson.
  10. I MYSELF DONT THINK THERE IS COMPLETE ANSWER EITHER, ITS A CHANCE YOU TAKE, STILL I WOULDNT BREED OFF A YOUNG TERRIER THOUGH THAT IS UNDER 2 YEARS OLD, SOME GOOD POINTS ON THE TOPIC WOULD LIKE TO READ MORE YIS CHANCER under 2, just over 2,whats the difference, 2yr 3 yr olds are still young dogs,as i said its about judgement, and comman sense.if you need a litter and cant source a decent pup else where sometimes its worth taking the chance 2 big words in there dev judgement and commen sense a little bit of knowledge and a little bit of risk 2 more for you .. yes stig totally

  12. i dont think there is a right answer really, its all about judgement and risk. i have bred from a young bitche and do not regret it.i dug her sire and dam many many times so i knew what was in her, she started well and had a good few decent results before i bred from her. i took a chance and used her sire on her and now i am digging 2 of her pups. she herself has turned out to be a very steady reliable bitch.so as i said its all about judgement
  13. ive just noticed this post now.. Why wud u let get ur dog get cut up so bad in her 1st season? You'l dishearten her, keep her winnin in her 1st season n give her easy digs and for god sake dont be lettin her cut up in her 1st season.. dont be letting her get cut up in her first season???? what are you on about, what she does in the ground is up to her, he cant stop her getting cut only she can!! not over working her is one thing but if she gets cut up there is nothing he can do about it, its up to her to learn and use her voice.some learn some dont, at the end ogf the day she is a worki
  14. it happened to me, the collar came off my young bitch in an earth, we were getting a steady mark and had started to dig, but we could hear the battle beside the entrance and then the fox bolted with the bitch behind him. we had to dig the collar, only 3 ft so not too bad. edited to say,it was a bellman and flint collar
  15. why do you get pissed off with people saying she is neither? her sire is a lakeland, dam is a patterale,so she is neither.she is just a crossbred terrier, nothing wrong with that
  16. lurcher is black with white touch on his chest just the same as the terrier, he is only 4 months so hard to tell but he looks like he will be a racey big dog
  17. patterdale pup 14 weeks old,dog,injected and wormed.bred from genuine working/digging terriers(father/daughter mating)£150 lurcher pup,bull x greyhound. 4months old,dog,injected and wormed, 3/8bull 5/8greyhound. bred for work £150
  18. a proven terrier is there even such an animal? to me they are just working terriers that can fuk up or quit at any stage. IMO they are not proven untill they have worked properly untill old age and have retired or died. then i would look back and say"that old bitch/dog was proven and tested" untill then they are just working terriers to me
  19. a mate of mine had one, it leaked in water, he sent it back and they replaced it
  20. just try him and see how he gets on
  21. If his feet reach the ground he should be ok what he said
