  4. I think its realistic that there may be some adaptations to the excisting law, e.g. increase the number of hounds you can use to flush fox deer mink etc, but i'm sorry to say that i dont believe that any government will reverse the ban fully. However i also feel at the moment that not a single major political party has the stomach to ban or consider banning any other country sport. Cheers Aled
  5. I recently read Clarissa Dickson Wrights book (spilling the beans) she is an alcoholic (hasnt had a drink for many years) and writes about her drying out period. Also she writes about hunting etc so its an enjoyable country read. It talks about addiction in some detail so would suggest you have a look. Secondly if aggression is a problem why not find an outlet? I was hitting the bottle a little bit too hard about 5 years ago, knew i had to do something, so i went back to play rugby after 2 years out of the game. It was a good move i lost 2 stone in weight, found sobriety had its strong points,

  12. Hello All I'm looking for some help. Where can i find a list of guides who take people pigeon shooting? Tried BASC, shooting times etc ads, there are some but nearly all a long way away i.e. Scotland, cracking country though it is i am looking a bit closer to home. I live in West Wales, but would be consider Welsh Border counties, e.g. Glos, Worcs etc. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Aled
  13. I did the Rural Resource Management diploma because i wanted to live and work in a counryside/conservation field. I thoroughly enjoyed studying the subject but i could not get work in this field at all. I do live in a rural area, but had to carve out a career elsewhere and now work in regenerating deprived areas. However the course itself was excellent and i went on to do a degree in the subject. Without a doubt it has helped me in my career but its more to do with having the letters BSc after my name than the subject i studied. Hope this helps. However some of my friends did get what they wan
  14. Nothing wrong with Rizzini guns my brother has got one "a grafter" as we'd say. However have you considered a good conditon lanber? Cheers Aled
  15. I wish it would stop raining for a bit, river is very high at the moment. Tight Lines Aled
  16. When i lived in Cardiff a great place to get worms after heavy rain was from the soil between the cracks in the pavement, or close to the wall or at the base of urban trees. They were easy to see in the orange street lamps. Would suggest you wear garden gloves though dog mess a potential hazard. I was once asked by a Policeman what i was doing crouched next to a primary school wall at 11pm in a waterproof cammo jacket. Thankfully one of the policemen was a barbel angler and impressed with my worm collection! This may sound like a joke but i promise you its not. I'll be out one the pavements
  17. I love seeing kids enjoying field sports. My boy is 2 in September and has a strong attraction to water (or dwr as we call it in Welsh). I often wonder where he gets that from ....do you think it could be anything to do with his great Grandfather, Grandfather, and Fathers passionate love of Fishing? Cheers Aled
  18. Bangers and Mash , peas and gravy, washed down with a can of bitter! Cheers Aled

  20. They are pretty quick if you are in the wrong! ......to be fair i've had an honest and professional service from them, after i got my first certificate, getting that was a bit more difficult, make sure your referee is good and you should be OK. Cheers Aled
  21. Buckleys Brains IPA a little known bitter served in Cardiff's proper pubs combined with a with a silk cut ultra, kept me sane in the big city! Since marriage and kids, i hardly ever smoke, and do not visit the pub as often as i used to. So every Friday night at 9pm, double gin and tonic with ice and lemon. OK a bit camp ....maybe but life for me is always about not following the crowd. Tight Lines Aled
  22. The bloke i called Grandad (its a long story but he wasnt my biological Grandad but he'll always be my "Grancha") was in the DDay landings and got wounded 2 during WW2. One of my biggest regrets of my life to date is that i did not take him down the club, buy him a pint and ask him to tell me about his War, i think i would of learnt a lot about whats important in life! Some of these stories are very interesting. Cheers Aled
