  1. It's all about certain peoples personal perspectives. There could be a wanker that buys and sells dogs willy nilly, bullshits about breeding etc and then asks a decent lad for a use of one of his dogs, the decent lad knows this chancer is full of shite so declines, thereafter the lad that's been knocked back will slag the decent lad off to anyone that will listen and will do his best to tarnish his name. That's the game we're in, I've seen it with my own eyes.
  2. I agree totally Foxdropper. Some lads are just naturally honest and decent and know that in life (not just terriers) that if someone helps you out or looks after you in some way, that naturally, you respect that person and would act the same back towards them. And then some people are just natural shitbags and dishonest and would take from anyone and then happily shit on them and that's just the way it is unfortunately.
  3. When money's involved the bullshit's not far behind. Stick with the right lads who have the right morals and you'll not go far wrong. They're difficult to find but there is a few diamonds if you weed through enough of the shite.
  4. All depends on the circumstances tbh, I wouldn't just run to use a dog that was unrelated but producing good pups just because everyone else is doing it, because who's to say that the next generation would work ? I'd rather stick to the family of dogs I know that are producing continually. Or I would use that dog and then breed back towards my dogs in the next generation, in other words use it as an outcross. But I wouldn't just breed best to best every generation regardless of breeding, and like I said I don't know any good kennels of terriers that it's worked for? But I know o
  5. I don't believe that for one second. Fair enough two terriers from different lines may produce a good litter but that's it IMO. Think of any terrierman you know that has been at it for years and keeps good digging dogs, I'll bet they keep a family line of terriers?
  6. Yes I agree with what you say Neil, I'm personally not a fan of it, not because it's difficult to dig, but because it can move and slip around, and on top of, a dog. I've not dug much in the shale type stuff but I have dug a dog out dead in it before.
  7. I know what you're saying General. But I think it's more for ease of the man holding them, holding one lead in one hand while holding shovels in the other is easier than 2 dogs wrapping themselves around each other and having to stop and start to sort them out.
  8. All depends on how much I trusted my mates judgement, and if there was any worry about pups getting sold or any dodgy dealings going on then I'd decline.
  9. Well I'd rather Redtube Waz, but not sure what the missus would think next to me
  10. I always turn my phone screen light down to minimum when Im in bed, I usually watch something on Youtube but last about 10 minutes before nodding off lol.
  11. Well, I went to sleep just after 10 and just woke up not long ago, never stirred once. You lads that do night shifts I don't envy you, it is awful, I did them for a few weeks a few years back and I was like a Zombie. Apparently it knocks years off your life too!
  12. I've used Strong Stuff for the last 10 years, can't fault the gear.
  13. About 8hrs a night for me. Never understood the problem with people getting to sleep, and once I'm down I don't stir until my alarm goes off. My lass is up 3/4 times a night pissing. That would do my head in.
  14. They're good jobs Glyn, I have the top one framed.
  15. Godfather 1 & 2, One flew over the cuckoos nest, Green Mile, Castaway, Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas all films Ive watched again and again. Series would be Phoenix Nights, the Steven Avery series on Netflix had me hooked, Louis Theroux's series always keep me watching too.
  16. I like the look of the crates, are they built to last or do they need replacing after x amount of years?
  17. I do the same with the shite DC, but I like to swill out every day and that's the water that I need rid of?
  18. I have no gully to feed them to , and the man hole is on the front of the house? Any tips for other ways to do it?
  19. Where do you run the drains to John? Just a soakaway? Ive had a soakaway down in front of my kennels for 3 years and like has been put on already, they've begun to block up with dog hair etc so are holding water when we have a good rainfall. I'm thinking of replacing the pebbles with new but running an Aco drain underneath them this time? Will this work better does anyone know?
