Harry Potter is a good read too, but it doesn't tell you much about terriers!. I've never been big into reading terrier books, but I have read some of 'work them hard treat them like heroes' and it was very good. New Nick Stevens book isn't as good as has been stated, according to a friend who has read it cover to cover... You won't go wrong with a Harcomb book. FTB I'd have to disagree with you on the new Stevens book, its a cracking read and a good insight into the mans line of terriers, it's definitly up there with Harcombe's book 'Work Them Hard...' IMO...

Cracking book, probably the best I've read in regards to commonsense where digging dogs are concerned. Ordered mine, Wed afternoon, arrived Thurs morning.

I don't think J Darcy had anything to do with the book, just published it. Ricky B is who has wrote articles and provided the photos etc., it's not my thing like has been said but was interesting all the same and will go nicely in the collection...

Turning into a good post this, I agree with you in saying that a bayer that gets stuck in when he's getting pushed is the type to aim/breed for, I used to be of the opinion when I first started that rock hard (stupid) dogs that are proper scarred up are the bees knees. But having seen with my owns eyes and dug plenty of game since I've realised that the hard dogs are usually a hindrance more than anything else, they can make a dig more difficult than it could have been with a steadier dog, then there's the kenneling weeks/months after when they are in no fit state to work and the worry of the -

ive seen a couple of his litter and they wher rough coated .......is the bitch your looking after rough coated..... a.t.b brog Is the pup you've got out of 'Downsouth's 'Meg'?? If it is I've got my wires crossed, the bitch here is out of a bitch from up here but also out of S.E 'Billy', I'm sure she's more about the ten month mark?? no mate its out of jazz.........nearly 11 month now.. It is the litter sister then, she's absolutely mad and bold as brass...
