When you have a large budget on an operation (Galileo) .. with quads, drones etc… they will turn over every stone to arrest you.. mobile phones, DNA, etc. Once green and flint rock up, your pretty much f****d unfortunately
I’ve had dogs that won’t run rabbits (unless I send them on) as there sat on the edge of cover that’s too tight for the dogs to enter. They know the land well and they know that running towards such rabbits is pointless, they keep trotting forward looking for rabbits sat further out. Definitely not gutless in this case, they just learned from experience.
I tend to remove them in the daytime from their mother at about 6/7 weeks.. I have a day time run that I make which is like a puppy pen. It’s perfect for handling them, especially as I’ve got kids and all there friends picking them up daily. Then at night time I put them back with the mother. I do this until they are sold .
I had one that i bred. Great all rounder. I’d have another no problem. She was out of a 1/4 Bull bitch to my strong coursing dog. So she would have only been 1/8 bull.
Great topic Fuji..
when your dogs are chasing the big fellows… how much distance do they cover before they make contact? Are they often out of eyesight and you have to rely on the tracker collars?
I’ve got one. It’s too small to be a decent all round Lurcher but she’s a great addition to the team. Good bushing and ferreting dog. Goes to ground and very obedient. Great pets too and good in the house.
I’ve got the pulsar . It’s £2400 but it’s really is a good bit of kit. I can see pretty much everything from mice close range to deer and foxes sat over in the next field.
