    Can you please help try & get my cocker pup back. Black cocker dog pup stolen from kennel in Chorley , Lancashire area on 25/01/10. They left the adult dogs and only took the pup. Dog is 5mths Black with small white blaze. Docked. Pup is micro-chipped. Police informed. If you are offered a young pup for sale that the seller can't give you details about pse can you let me know.Reward for return or info leading to return Thanks

    cool, thank you, does anyone buy mature pheasants pre - shoot to add to the wild game already on kept on sight?? if so what would the price of these be? am thinking about raising pheasants to maturity on the farm premises before then selling them off to you 'gamekeeper types'!! is this done at present?? would this be viable financialy and would anyone (gamekeeper, shoot organisers) buy these?? soory for my lack of knowledge!! sean. Mate no offence but your complete lack of knowledge means you are better off saving your money because you won't make this work.

    Simon Tyers Hawcroft Gundogs are the best Cocker specific DVDs. Edward Martin dvds are good too.

    Not really a receipe but just add some vodka & tabasco to some good quality tomato soup. Warm through (do not boil ) and serve in mugs

    Yes, that's the one's that keep the dog in a lovely hot house and wonder why the dogs not to happy to go outside working on a freezing day

    Dogs have coats for a reason!!! Mine get no blankets, they sleep on rubber matting and have no probs. Send them to bed dry, in a draught free kennel and they don't need anything else. I went to my kennels today, the water was frozen but the 12 week old pup was still bright, alert and lovely and warm!!!

    Seeing the same name a couple of times in a 5 Gen pedigree is not unusual. some lines tend to do it more than others Both the Grand Sire of Dam & Sire are Ian Opies dog, that's who you'll have seen in the pics in shooting times Have a read of Ian here, and you can see some of the dogs mentioned. http://www.rytexgundogs.com/index.htm

    Why is it an issue that she lies down? If you want her to stay and she is doing that I cant see a problem. You are trying to cure an issue that does not exist. If there is enough to keep her stimulated then she will stay up if not she may just want to chill. There should be no need for the stay command as sit means sit until your told to do something else. Exactly One of my cockers lies flat when doing stay training................who cares it's staying as said SIT means SIT until your told somethin else, so no need for a stay command

    A whistle does give consistant sounds, that why most of us use them. As you say, he knows the recall command so he's just taking the p1ss in the bushes. You now have 2 choices 1. Don't give the command in cover (your just reinforcing a negative) 2. Get in the cover after him & show him he can't get away with it. I know this is a pain but you MUST do it everytime he ignores you. He'll soon get the idea

    Are you saying it doesn't work well in cover because it can't hear you ? Because if not why do you think a different whistle will make it respond? If it's ignoring one whistle it'll ignore every whistle less you sort it out.

    Probably best to start by asking................what type of shooting / work do you want it for? Does raising pheasant mean flushing?
