  1. The one I had & all the others I seen working around me never had hard mouths. Powerful dogs but no hard mouth.
  2. hi from lancs been after something for a while my number is xxxxxxxxxxx. Ill take it off you with trial if its 100% with anything. Thanks, rob Rob, I would remove your number from a public site if I was you.
  3. Got a mint condition BSA Ultra .22 (fired 2 pellets) bag, scope etc if you interested. See review in link Scope was 2nd hand & not sure of spec until I go home and look. Can send some pics if you want to look. http://www.gunmart.net/gun_review/bsa_ultra_ms_pcp/

  5. Was out this morning (11:45hrs) cycling between Leyland & Bretherton and spotted a Harris Hawk (looked female given size) jump of the road into into the field. (near the hot air balloon house, if you know the area) Had bells & jessies on. Looked in good condition. Good Luck (can some of the Falconry lads post of any other sites?)
  6. From a trialling point of view the dog doesn't just seem to flow. Makes the back end look sticky for want of a better description. She's now too old to trial so no longer an issue.
  7. She is good at home because the temptation is not there. She needs to come out the beating line until you finish training her. A beating line is no place to try & correct a dog.
  8. There is no such ruling that I'm aware of. The Vet will take off in general just the tip but can be "encouraged" down if you prefer. I have cockers with various lengths of docking and the little bitch with only a 1/4 tail left "looks" awful hunting. Shame as she is a lovely hunter.
  9. It looks more stylish when you're watching a dog hunt.
  10. The best Cocker one of recent times is 2005 at Bolton Castle. Open ground, mostly rabbits and you get to see everything. Great run off as well.
  11. If you're a trialler then take a 1/4 OFF. If you're a gamekeeper leave a 1/4 ON
  12. Just send her for long memory retrieves then. You can get buy without a dummy launcher. Even if you have one they are best used when somebody else does the firing, so they could equally just throw the dummy while placed out in the field.
  13. Surely the question is, why would you? Nothing wrong with a GSD but so many other dogs better for the task at hand.

You won't go wrong contacting Roy Bebbington regarding WHV pups. A lovely bloke as well.
  15. I bought a BSA Multi Shot PCP .22 the other year. I have fired 2 pellets through it from new. I added a 2nd hand scope at the time, new padded case, filling attachment etc. It has been out the safe so little I can't even remember what model it is but a google search seems to show it as a BSA Ultra. It was charged up in the shop when I bought it and hasn't been touched since. I can look it out the safe it is something you would be interested in? There might even be a time of pellets with 498 in it Cheers
  16. The ban was not voted by mp's, Tony Blair used an ancient act of parliament that was to be used in times of emergency (warfare or civil war) in order to get his own way, it had been debated many times beforehand but never made it through parliament, without a lot of lobbying of mp's and public demonstration the law will never change, David Cameron does not have the balls to use the same act to change it back or try an open debate through parliament, WM Indeed, after passing through the commons several times only to be rejected in the Lords it was forced through. Even those against hunt
  17. The removal from MPs outside of England voting on English only law will tend to make it a more Conservative controlled parliament. (Labour largely in Scotland, Wales). Suppose that would suggest a more hunt friendly group but I cannot see the issue of the ban on hunting ever being reversed. The vast majority of the country don't even think about it & if pushed would probably just say leave it as it is. They would probably think there is other issues that need sorting before this.
  18. Still nothing here George. Tried contacting a couple of times but nothing.
  19. Don't get caught up in the "too young" advice game. The dog is ready to be trained when the quarry and season permit. So your pup is 2 months old, its the start of the season & game abounds. You taking it running free on game ?
  20. Sent them a note the other day but nothing. Is it not much cop ? Looking on learning a bit before seeing if its for me. Cheers
  21. Right, while you chaps aren't being arseholes please tell me this, how do I get onto the IFF Forum ? I've filled in the register page & have an account name / password. I can log onto the site but cannot see any posts. Do I need to do something else or are they being areseholes !!!
  22. I've given away cocker spaniels that squeak when they first cast off as its almost impossible to cure & of no use in a trialling dog. I managed to limit it by giving them a good run BEFORE actually needed to use then each day. Sometimes it worked, others days it didn't. If you can live with it then not an issue but otherwise might be best to find a Pet home for him. It does seem to be a cocker thing more than any other sadly.
  23. Explaining it in a post would take for ever. I like to start slowly with my pups & only really get on with it from about 9 months. The recall can be worked on straight away as the pup will want to be with you. Best DVD is the Dave Lissett series. Expensive but brilliant for Springers. Drop to shot, drop to flush are all needed because your dog wont be doing anything it shouldn't if its sat on its arse. Cheers
