Looking for Bedlington Whippet breeders
Chevy Chase replied to Oscar Bellville's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I knew an old keeper who had one bred the same way, what a handy little dog she was! Worth her weight in gold -
Seen a reply on one of the Facebook posts concerning this and it was a screenshot of his Facebook where he had put a post on saying “sad day in the kennels R.I.P” and a few pictures of a black terrier in the comments some people asked what had happened, he then says he’s shot the dog because it barks and was winding up his other dogs. One of his pals commented saying they could tell he was a true terrier man for doing this as it showed he doesn’t keep shit

That’s why I’d never have one, I’d always go for a greyhound x for the sake of a couple of inches in difference in height you’re going to get a much more versatile little lurcher
-
Exactly that mate, a lad I used to knock around with in my early teens had a first cross beddy grey he was only 22.5 at the shoulder, and to this day probably one the best little allrounders I’ve seen, looked a bit like some of the heartbreak fell dogs I’ve seen posted on here

When people say there’s no “proper working bedlingtons” do they mean earth dogs? If so what’s the requirement that the sire would need to be an earth dog to produce ratting/rabbiting dogs? Surely there’s plenty of bedlingtons doing just that, and as charts says what does it matter if there’s a % of something else in them

Good response mate thanks They’re two stunning bitches and I’m sure the old bitch gave you many happy memories and I hope your current one continues to give you many more to come. I’ve never seen a deerhound cross in full fight sadly, my current charge probably has somewhere in the region of a 1/4 in him not that you’d know it to look at him and I had his uncle before that but he only had about 1/8 however I think they were better for it!

How would you compare the two at the same age/level of experience?

I remember there being plenty of posts and topics on here about alaunts, must’ve been 2008-10ish never see them mentioned now
-
Possibly although there’s no visual sign of that having been the case, no soreness or wounds that are obvious
-
I must admit that was my thoughts as well

My Jill gave birth on Sunday to a litter of 8 kits, I prefer to leave them well alone without too much disturbance but my son wanted a look at them so we poked our heads in last night and had a look, there was one which had died. I removed that and it doesn’t have a tail, odd I thought but one of them things perhaps. Had another look in just now and could only see 6, removed the Jill and had a rummage around in the bedding and found the 7th now deceased kit, again no tail but also visibly swollen around the stomach. Checked the rest and they all seem fine, for as much as I can t

Mitch and Wally, proud hunters from the Northumbrian coalfields of Ashington stand here today as the living legacy of over 30,000 years of man hunting with dogs, natural hunting. They don't write this stuff in books, they actually DO it and practise the arts handed down over generations. This is sacred stuff. It's in their DNA. The cultural heritage of mankind is man's oldest try at life.....hunting. Labour is trying to eradicate their way of life and persecuting a minority group with protected beliefs in a campaign of misguided class warfare. This is their story. Seen this doing t

The newer models have independent rear suspension but obviously that’ll be reflected in price of the second hand models
