    Confession time...
  5. Well in short it's frowned upon , the hunt is a similar effort to France , the hunt I joined was run by chief of police in local town. There is a lot of land to go at and a neighbour said we could get permit for goats and go and shoot a load of deer but I just wanted to work the busher on the shoot and took the runner on slip on a predator day which was horrifying for them lol. So I'd say it's a no in Romania, I had some fun but it was at dawn in minus ten mostly, and there's shepherds with about a dozen dogs that you can just wander into in the middle of nowhere. Hungary is probably the best
  6. High prey drive often pressurised the prey into making a mistake or thinking they're safe in cover when a dog smashes straight in.
  7. Well I don't know about that, I don't smack my boys, maybe a bit in jest , they know they'd get one if they justified it, ban or no ban, I'm being somewhat tested at the moment of late. I find it easier not to be dragged into a discussion with them where as the wife will debate I tend to instruct without debate unless I feel they have a genuine question of my reasoning, which is rare they just want to push boundaries and draw attention, kid stuff. But far easier to deal with now than when they're late teens. I do see that certain pals rub off on them and I pull them on it, I also know when the
  8. Grab whatever opportunities come your way.
  9. It's gone already, quiche and chips for me lol
  10. I'd say lack of prey drive for a particular prey, ie if they'll kill themselves for a squirrel but be half hearted on a rabbit then maybe the rabbits have sickened them or they've had too many failed attempts, success normally breeds success . If fitness isn't up to scratch or there is an injury. I'd say it's open to interpretation. My bitch is driven but normally shoots past where said bunny has gone in, and the few she's had have been in lamp or cover. She's far more interested in other things though. Another dog I had was mad keen for rabbits and managed to catch some really long slips , I'
  11. The best argument for why this woke madness is occurring is that parents stopped setting boundaries. In my day you might push the boundary with a haircut or piecing or a fashion style , schools still had rules and strict uniform policies , then came a generation of soft parents that used child led parenting , initially it was gender, now it's moving towards animals and other madness, I think the research states that nearly all these children come from broken homes, trauma, multiple trauma etc. rather than strong parents and teachers setting a firm boundary which children will always want to te
  12. 32oz each , we ate 2/3 last night , probably warm some up for later or leave it for the missus to snack on in the week.

  17. Bit of a pilgrimage, love this pub.
  18. When I used to do a bit I felt having fit active ferrets kept in a run with kibble worked for me , I'd not hunt with hungry ferrets and I'd not let them gorge on a rabbit beforehand.
  19. Beer batter, slow cooked beef stew, slug killer.....
  20. I'd think about the land IE size of fields you run and and what you'd rather live with size wise.
  21. I bought another four, hopefully this will override the current, ah apparently the youngest ate it , but we may be left in the position of one scone leftover... I'll keep you posted.
