  1. If you are out COURSING, for sport and to watch the dog run; then the hare should be given fair law. But if you are out HUNTING, for the pot, and you're up on a bit of high ground watching your dog quartering a feild and it lifts a hare, then it's only doing it's job, and law doesn't come into it. Cheers.
  2. I'm using th img tab on Photobucket, same as I've allways used.sometimes when I "copy" it won't "paste",other times, when I want to put the pic below the text, it automaticaly goes above the text. If I highlight the pic code and drag it down below the text, the pic won;t appear, only the pic code ! I hope that makes sense to you. I use exactly the same method on other sites, and it works ok, this has only happened since you updated the site. Cheers.
  3. i'm having trouble posting pics. Sometimes they won't post at all; other times they will only post above the text, not where I want to post them. It's only happened since you changed the site, and I have no trouble posting them on other sites. So, personaly, I wish you had left well alone ! LOL ! Cheers.
  4. After a long days hunting yesterday, we're just relaxing today, drinking a few chilled Tooheys in the garden, I can't believe this is winter in Australia !! This is one of my daughters dogs, she says it;s an Australiam Fox Terrier, but it looks awfully like a Chihuahua to me !!! LOL !!!
  5. Moo; yeah it was hunt land, and it was enormous, they covered some ground. Those jumps have two strands of barbed above them, and the terrier man and other followers try to establish where the hunt is going and drop the wires then put them back up after the horses go over. There is stock on most of the land, so the fencing has to be respected or the land owners wouldn't allow the hunt on. Tomo, there are rabbits and hares everywhere, and Gerrard was asked by one of the hunt to go on her property and cull the hares which are destroying 8000 young trees they've just planted, another member o
  6. We had a great day out, but it got better as we got back to the meeting place. We let the dogs out to stretch their legs before the journey home, and the 'Roo dog took off on a hot scent, and soon pulled a fox literaly yards from where the hunt had set of !! So the final score was Fox Hounds Nil - 'Roo dog one !! LOL !!
  7. The hunt were having a grand day, covering a large amount of ground and jumping some stone walls and fences.
  8. We got one terrier out but the other went missing, not a sound from him ! We waited around and suddenly he appeared, so they were boxed up and off we went to catch up with the hunt.
  9. The hunt caught up with us and waited while the terriers were working the fox. It sounded like the terriers were settled in so the hunt moved off, and, Sods Law, a fox bolted as soon as they left. I slipped the 'Roo dog on it, but it got back amongst the rocks.
  10. The first draw was over a large grass paddock towards an abandoned quarry, We were at a vantage point and saw a fox enter the rocks, so we were straight there and a terrier was entered.
  11. We met up with the rest of the hunt, they had a small pack, (seven couple), of mixed hounds and thirteen mounted followers and a few car followers,
  12. Well, the Australian Adventure carried on today !! Gerrard40 invited me out for a day with the Hunt he is terrier man for. I set off at 7.30 and headed west. I met up with Gerrard just after 9.00 at a little town called Lara, near Geelong. He had four of his terrters and his 'Roo dog with him;
  13. Gerry, I'd love to come out with the hunt, I'll pm you my wifes number. If somehow you don;t get it, both Dromana and Frankie/Moses have it. Skycat, I may be wrong, but I think the only difference between Roo Dogs and Staghounds is the coat, Roos being smooth coated and Stags being rough. The Roo dog in the pics has a wee bit of Bull in him way back, and the Stag has a bit of Borzoi way back. Tomo, we saw pleanty hares, and the only reason we didn't slip on them was that we were after other quarry. I can't believe the Saluki or Saluki Hybrid isn't more popular down hear, as the land we
  14. Then we visited friends where I picked oranges and lemons from their garden, (and this is their winter !!). These were then squeezed and used to make some very nice vodka cocktails !!! LOL !!!
  15. I also managed a bit of sight seeing, my wife and daughter took me up to the Dandeenong Ranges to see the wild parrots. These REALY are wild birds, and come down out the trees to eat seads out of your hand. Cockatoo's and Rosella's;
  16. A tremendous day out, with top dogs and lads who knew what they were doing !! I can't thank them enough, and hope I managed to keep up when walking and not getting in the way when digging, to maybe get another invite out !! LOL !! Heres some random pics of the dogs and qarry;
  17. This one was dispatched and we went back to flushing the long grass. At the end of the strip the dogs put another fox into a rock pile and the terriers were entered. There were two at home and one bolted, to be dispatched in fine style by the Roo dog. The other was killed below ground by the terrier, who then proceded to get stuck !!! It was starting to get late now, so some of us went for a walk with the running dogs, where the Roo dog caught a couple of rabbits, a very versatile dog ! I was assured that both the Roo dog and the Stag would take kangaroo, if it were legal, but of course, it's
  18. These two were dispatched and we went on to flush some long grass on the margins of a stubble field. one of the Whippets flushed a small vixen into a rock pile and the terriers were entered. It was only a short way in, but we had to use the ute to move some of the bigger rocks, and she was drawn and dispatched.
