gaffer bit ov retrieving hares
chartpolski replied to shaunovderby's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
The lad tested his dog; it did extremely well; and he filled his freezer, didn't dump them in a hedge bottom........... so why are people crabbing him ?????? Well done mate. Cheers. -
In the past, wasn't the dog show just outside the main show, and you didn't have to pay to get into the main show if you just wanted to show the dogs ? It's right though, all the country shows are getting worse, and charging more !! CHEERS.

Yeah mate, I just put post up on OzzieDoggers, asking if anyone would take me hunting when I was down there, and the lads went out of there way to take me hunting ! Great lads, great dogs and great hunting !! Cheers. -
Why would anyone skin and gut two roe......... then leave the carcasses in a ditch ??? Doesn't make sense ...... Cheers.

You bet your life I would of !! I kept looking at that big land and the hares and thinking about how my Deer/Grey would have done. They were a great set of lads I was out with, with top dogs that did the business on foxes. I told them if they are ever over here, I'll put them up !! Cheers. -
A huge, massive thanks to Fran & Aidy, Lee & Annie for looking after my dogs while I've been in Australia for the past seven weeks !!!! I don't know what I'd have done without you !! These people are what the dog game is all about, they had no hesitation in coming up from Yorkshire to collect my dogs and then driving back up again with them, I owe you guys BIG time !!! Cheers, Richie.

When I was in Australia last week, we went into my daughters local pub, and a pint of larger was £6.60 !!!! Needles to say, I only had the one !! Cheers.

Don't you think someone can be an expert on running dogs No. some people THINK they are experts, (I'm not talking about Skycat), but I doubt verty much any one is an EXPERT on running dogs. Cheers.

Classifying whippets for racing
chartpolski replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Still not getting it, Albert !! Martin KNOWS FOR A FACT his dog is NOT an "unregistered KC Whippet" It's a "Non-ped Whippet" with pleanty Greyhound blood in it !! A world of difference !! Don't eqate Retreives with Whippets ! Cheers. -
All of them, apart from the Silken Windhound, still work to some degree, around the world. Cheers.
-
I'm sure Skycat is a very nice and helpfull person....... but to call anyone an EXPERT on running dogs............ Hmmmm Cheers

Classifying whippets for racing
chartpolski replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Wouldn't it be easier if these people just raced their Ped Whippets, Non-Ped Whippets and 31/32% Greyhounds at tracks, out of traps, and left Lurcher racing for Lurchers ????? Cheers. -
Dessie, that's the way to go with the racing . As for the showing, unfourtunately, the "Working dog" class is allways the biggest at any show, even though 99% of the dogs have not done a days work in their lives !! I was judging a class once, and asked the lady owner "what work does your dog do" and she replied"he chases squirrels in the park" !!!! You can only take people at their word and hope the judge knows a working dog from a show dog, although this isn't allways possible !! I personally think there shouldn't be a "working dog class"; aren't they ALL suppossed to be workers ? Cheers

Classifying whippets for racing
chartpolski replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
To me, this is all about the difference between a "Non-Ped Whippet" and an "Unregistered Whippet" !! I f the racing was for "un registered Whippets", it should have been for pure bred Whippets; if it was for Non-Ped Whippets, then surely any "Whippet" registered with the BWRA or the NNWRF could enter, no matter if it had Greyhound blood !! So if you were ambiguos with what you advertised, your'e asking for these arguments !! Albert, in a previous post about this subject, I said you were naive where ":Whippets" are concerned; it appears you still are !! A decent "Non-Ped" will easily beat a reg -
Who won the competition you were running last season, Whin ? Cheers.
-
A Beduin bred Saluki I owned and ran in the Middle East.
-
I've seen him run, and spoken with his owner. He's a VERY fast dog, on srtraights and bends. Being out of a "Non-Ped" Whippet and a Greyhound, he probably has more Greyhound in him than Whippet, in fact he looks more like a Greyhound. Anyone wanting to put more speed into a line could do a lot worse than use this dog ! Cheers.

see terry turkingtons at it again cmw
chartpolski replied to wharrier's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Of course everyone should have an opinion, and some people ARE breed blind, but anyone who says Whippets aren't fast, realy SHOULDN'T be writing for a national feildsports publication, (if you can call the CMW that), !!!!!! Cheers. -
what is an acceptable slip(pre ban of course)
chartpolski replied to nick.c's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
If you are out COURSING, for sport and to watch the dog run; then the hare should be given fair law. But if you are out HUNTING, for the pot, and you're up on a bit of high ground watching your dog quartering a feild and it lifts a hare, then it's only doing it's job, and law doesn't come into it. Cheers. -
I'm using th img tab on Photobucket, same as I've allways used.sometimes when I "copy" it won't "paste",other times, when I want to put the pic below the text, it automaticaly goes above the text. If I highlight the pic code and drag it down below the text, the pic won;t appear, only the pic code ! I hope that makes sense to you. I use exactly the same method on other sites, and it works ok, this has only happened since you updated the site. Cheers.
-
i'm having trouble posting pics. Sometimes they won't post at all; other times they will only post above the text, not where I want to post them. It's only happened since you changed the site, and I have no trouble posting them on other sites. So, personaly, I wish you had left well alone ! LOL ! Cheers.
