    Whippet99, it's once a year when we get the chance to win a few people over !! Some of these people will go to every meet, some only on Boxing Day, it may be the first time for some, just to see what all the fuss is about !!     My answer to this type of question is usualy; if you can kennel/house them; feed, train, and excersize them; work them; can afford the vet bills/insurance, etc.... then go ahead and get as many as you like ! But just by asking the question on here would make me think you should not get another dog. You should be absolutely sure before taking on another dog !! Cheers.

    In your 1st post you say you want a dog to "bring your pup on", then in another post you say youre "looking at going thru' the season without a runnable dog", I'm confused; do you want a dog just for the rest of this season, or to bring your pup on ?     Just seen on the news that the Tories have decided they won't try for a free vote on the repeal of the ban during this parliament !! Well, they are going to be voted out in 2015, and Labour will get back in, so I think I can forget about a Repeal during my lifetime !! Cheers.

    There's a cracking little bar in Falstone Village called "The Blackcock"; we call it the "Dirty Dick" ! LOL ! the village sits in the shaddow of Keilder Dam, and the pub is a proper country pub; log fire, dog friendly, good craic with the local farmers and poachers; well worth a look in if you are in the area. I don't think there is any degree of accuracy; they just put two sires to a dam , and DNA test the pups.     Evidentely dogs were traded back and forth along the "Spice Road" between China and Europe, thru' India, the Middle East and Central Asia. Dogs were then bred to suit the land and conditions, giving us the Salukis, Rampurs, Tazi's, Afghans, Borzois, etc. There are still some of these breeds doing what they were bred for around the world.
