    Sitting here having a beer, I got to wondering about the pubs I'd been in around the world. Out of them all, I think the best and strangest has to be a bar I found in New Zealand. I was staying in a little town called Tokaroa, in the middle of the North Island. It used to be a wood mill town, but the mill had closed down, and frankly it reminded me of England in the 50's ! I used to walk from the suburbs into town every morning to buy a pint of milk and a three day old Daily Mirror. On morning I noticed people going into a pub, at about 8 o'clock in the morning!     If I saw your dogs doing what I wanted, then of course I'd want one ! What you need to understand Dan, is that there is, I bet, far more Lurcher breeders and workers, PER CAPITA, here in the UK than there is in the 'States. Everyone and his brother are breeding shit !! A guy gets a bitch of his mate, who has been told it's bred one way and he breeds it with a dog he's got from the pound, and then advertises them as somthing that they aren't !! All I'm saying, is if I get a dog from genuine parents, say a Deerhound and a Greyhound; at least I have a good idea what it will be ! I also have a Lur

    Well Dan; I brought in a 1st cross Deer/Grey to do a specific job that my 23" lurcher was having a struggle with. She does the job EXACTLY as I wanted. Why didn't I go for a Lurcher x Lurcher to do the job, I hear you ask; well, it may be different where you are, but there are a lot of breeders here who will simply tell you what you want to hear !! I know someone who bought a "Line bred Deer/Grey x", and when it only made 24", they went back to the breeder, who told them; "Oh, I forgot ! There is also Collie in the line" !! Getting a 1st x, you at least have a good idea what they will turn out

    Yes they will; but if you thought you were buying a Deer/Grey that would be the size you were after, only to find out you'd got a Collie x, you might just feel a litle aggrieved ! Cheers.

    Whippets are rabbit and racing dogs ! Yes, they may take the odd fox or hare; I've even had a one that took the odd roe.... but that isn't their job ! Why overmatch them ? They have the heart to try, but if you want to take fox, then get a dog that can do it quickly and cleanly !! Cheers.

    very nice chartpolski, never heard or seen one of these before! A couple of your pics appear to be from "Boar Dogs"; you'll often see them or their crosses dor sale on there. Very popular as pig dogs in Oz and the US. Cheers.

    As they marched onward in their biblical quest for the Holy Cottage; Baw was starting to realise his insignificance in the company of these Elders of the Hunt; to be in the presence of such lumanairies as these he felt like Golum; scrabbling around the periphery of his heroes !!     Darcy had come to the Highlands in search of solitude and inspiration for his new tome; it was to be a deviation from his usual books; in fact it would be full of the exploits of the worst deviants to haunt the cyber pages of THL..... Moscow, Hedz and Bigdaddylongchopper !!! Darcy was still trying to figure out how he could fit a Tu-Tu, a cage, and an amputee dwarf into a book about Lurchers !!
