    I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with a coursing club. I found the complete opposite when I used to attend the Coquetdale & Border Coursing Club in Northumberland. It was made up mainly of miners, shipyard workers, normal working lads. My mate John the Postman was the slip steward, another pal who owned a pub in one of the "less salubrious " parts of Newcastle was also a great supporter. We would all meet up at the Three Wheats Head pub near Rothbury for lunch, there was no cliques or hierarchy, we just all had one thing in common, running dogs.? Cheers.

    Yes mate, I'm happy with her. She's mad as a box of frogs at times, but she does that air scenting thing, and when she does, I can almost guarantee there's a roe about. Funnily enough, I've found deer crosses do this, air scent and put their nose on the ground. Shes as skittish as a Greyhound sapling, but fast as f**k, I'm having some sport with her. Cheers.

    C'mon mate ! Stop being so stubbornly myopic ? Ive seen Salukis and Saluki types pull up when the going gets tough, just like any other type , and I've had both ? As for "breaking" a dog, any fool can make a dog jack, however game or driven it is, you just need to put more graft in front of them than they can handle. To paraphrase Clint " a dog man needs to know his dogs limits" ?? Cheers.

    I haven't a clue, mate ! I did a fair bit of lamping with the lad who had her from a pup, but he passed her on as he didn't like the "Bedlington coat", the rest, as they say, is history ?? He used to be on here, but last time I saw him was at Morpeth Hunt show years ago. Cheers.

    Tory Chief Whip has just resigned........in the middle of a crucial vote in parliament on fracking. Government had applied a hard, three line Whip, but it appears the MP' s have revolted. It looks like end of days for the Tory's.....what's the betting on a General Election , sooner rather than later, and a landslide for Labour ? C'mon Nigel, make up with Tice, take control of the Reform Party and get out canvassing for votes ! Cheers.

    Nah, we've got a new plan ! British pilots are training Chinese pilots how to fly Typhoons and F35 so the chinks are going to join us and we together will defeat the Russians and the Americans and split the world up between us ! Just thought I'd get in first ! ?? Cheers.

    My understanding is; way back in history, starting with the Romans, only Emporers and family were allowed to wear purple robes, this morphed into royalty and aristocracy being called "blue blooded", clothes being called. "Royal Blue", etc. Now, "bred in the purple" simply means "bred from the best" ? Cheers.

    I never thought they would honour the triple lock......they didn't when it meant we would get 8% rise because of the average wage, so they certainly won't when we should get at least 10% because of inflation. We will get the 2.5% same as last time. Cheers.

    Truss was an absolute disgrace today ! She refused to face parliament and answer questions and allowed Penny Mordaunt to take all the abuse. Truss then entered parliament with Hunt and sat with a smirk on her face as he put the Tory's case forward, then she walked out without saying a word. Cowardly, not what we want from a Prime Minister. I hope she gets kicked out, if not, maybe some Tory MP's will have the honour to cross the floor and join the Reform Party. Either way, the Tory's are finished and sadly that lets Labour in ! Cheers.

    Hunt has just reversed all the changes Truss and Karteng had announced in their budget, Hunts calling the shots now. So, Truss is Prime Minister in name only, she's been humiliated, I don't see how she can carry on. Cheers.

    Don't get me wrong, that's why I especially said "in a sporting scenario". ? Ive ran single, doubled, daytime, night time, in the snow, and if I want one for the pot I'll take them out the seat ! My point was that "doubled up", such as in the likes of the Waterloo Cup, is testing dog against dog, and killing the hare is almost immaterial ? Cheers.

    I allways thought, in a sporting scenario, that "doubled up" was testing dog against dog. Whereas "single handed" was testing dog against hare ? Cheers.
