  1. You sound more and more like Whin with every post ! You can’t both have the best dogs in the world ! PMSL ! Cheers.
  2. I hope he does everything thing you say, but do you think all coursing breds are as good as him ? Ive seen more that couldn’t catch a rabbit in a phone box than ones that made the grade , so why should I take the chance on breeding dogs that takes 10minutes to wear out a hare ? Im virtually guaranteed to get something near what I want by the breeding I’m thinking of. ” If there’s ever been a better roe dog” …….dear god, ( no pun intended). Cheers.
  3. No mate, if I was going to take pups from her it would be something like these big non-pedwhippet/greyhound saluki types are not what I want for what I do. Absolutely nothing against them I’ve had pures and crosses, but I need something that can take a hare or roe in double quick time and move on, saluki types aren’t what I’d be after, just something that can keep my freezer full. And mC , please don’t tell me yours can do all that, maybe they can, but I’d be awfully disappointed if I bred something that was no good to me. Any how, I’ve never bred a litter in m
  4. Just been talking to Max, he bred Razzamataz, litter mate to England Expects, Wilfey Wells and Run Of The Hawk. Sired by Westmead Hawk. Dam Move Over Marie . I knew there was a connection ! LOL ! Cheers.
  5. Stubbles here ! Still too early and too hot, but when you see the stubble, you know the seasons not far away. Time to start getting the bitch fit ! Cheers.
  6. No, he’s a pedlar, sells anything that’s the flavour at the time. I think you’re getting mixed up with Sleight and Platt. They are pals. Platts the deer x man, Sleight was collies , whippets and anything else. Cheers.
  7. I only need a lamp and a dog mate. Cheers.
  8. Of course, Sleights stud dog ! Maybe that was the litter mate to Wilfy Wells and Max’s dog ? Cheers.
  9. I hope so. I know he was moving back to Wolverhampton. Cheers.
  10. Probably a bit cumbersome, though…. Cheers.
  11. I may be mistaken, but wasn’t Ray’s Buck sired by Wilfy Wells , the litter brother to England Expects ? Cheers.
  12. Distance dog I think . Cheers.
  13. I saw a scatter bred lurcher do 3/3 just two seasons ago, was never on a slip, ran one, the other two out of their seats. This bitch took 3/3 on Nissan sports fields / Sunderland airport 45 years ago, again never on a slip, just working the land herself. Cheers.
  14. I thought it killed 12 in a row over a week ? Cheers.
  15. I thought he was putting up videos of kick ups deliberately ! Honestly, I wondered what he was up to ? LOL ! Cheers.
  16. I’ve just checked how much those match monies would be today. £54 = £960 today. £70 = £1,180 today. A lot of money 53 years ago for a 20 year old apprentice ! Cheers.
  17. Ahh, so yours weren’t really matches ? They were just walk outs with pals ? when I had the whippets and greyhounds I had probably 1,000’s of races, won some , lost some. But actual matches, money matches , challenges , were a different thing. Heres a few I had with whippets and greyhounds back in ‘72 ; Cheers.
  18. I’m still a bit confused, you were talking about matches and said you were unbeaten 30-0 ? Cheers.
  19. I’m getting confused , I thought it was YOU that had the 30 matches ? Who are you talking about ? Cheers.
  20. What were these “30 matches” ? Doubled up, single handed, best of 3 ? Independent slipper and judge ? Cheers.
  21. Stocking up on the pickled onions; Good selection of tomatoes today; Cheers.
  22. I don’t personally know anyone using performance enhancing drugs on the whippets, but both the Ped and Non-ped governing bodies have drug testing procedures so I guess it must go on. I know some whippet and greyhound people use season suppressing methods , especially on six monthly bitches, otherwise they would nerve be race fit. Cheers.
  23. Same here, my bitch comes into season in march , a perfect time, seasons ended, plenty time for her to relax over the summer and start getting her fit around now for the start of the season about mid-September. Cheers.
  24. Why don’t the summer hunters just admit it instead of all the excuses; ”farmer asked me to do it”, ”Will lose my permission if I don’t do it”, ”pest control”, No one believes them, they are only lying to themselves. Cheers.
  25. It’s not just the seasons, Bangers, it’s about the crops coming down , the ground and most importantly letting the animals breed and the young get a start in life. If we kill the young’uns, there’d be nothing left to hunt in the hunting season. As I’ve said before, if you want to summer hunt, for whatever reason, that’s up to you, but it’s not for me. Cheers.
