  1. Lewis Collins ? Cheers.
  2. I would say Bernard Hill would have classed himself as a professional actor ! LOL !, but I give up, and I really wanted those 10 points to add to my resume’……. Cheers.
  3. John Gorman ? Or maybe “Yosser”. Cheers.
  4. First of my aubergines and some other veg and eggs; Looks like moussaka is on the menu ! Cheers.
  5. I’ve been talking to lads and the general consensus is acidosis is caused, mainly , by over running an unfit dog. Seems strange for a 13 week old pup to suffer from it , maybe its something else ? Cheers.
  6. If the pup has had this problem since 13 weeks old, I’d say a visit to the vets and a hip/spine x-Ray would be my first thought. Hope it’s nothing serious and it gets sorted quickly. Cheers.
  7. I’ve seen it in running dogs, especially those “doubled muscled” non-peds. I owned one, extremely fast but suffered muscle cramps straight after a race, but haven’t seen it in a pup so young. Cheers.
  8. I thought lactic acid build up was caused by over exertion ? Cheers.
  9. I was with Hamed at the Saluki Centre when two guys from Oman came with a saluki bitch they wanted mating. Hamed point blank refused as they couldn’t prove its pedigree. But let’s be fair, we know for a fact greyhound was added to Deerhound, with the acceptance of the KC, bulldog was added to the greyhound, by Lord Orford, and I can guarantee that greyhound has been added to Middle East Salukis. One of my Bedouin bred Salukis mated a desert dog, we kept a pup back and that was mated with a saluki and again a pup was kept back , so 3/4 saluki 1/4 desert dog and I defy anyone to t
  10. Just my observation of that short video; Sandman certainly runs like a saluki, a very good saluki ; but just judging by the pictures, I’ve never seen a pure saluki with a strong back like that., almost like a greyhounds ! As I say, just my personal observation, someone will tell me there’s loads of pures with backs like that, ok, but not in my limited experience. Definitely a class dog, however it’s bred . Cheers.
  11. Remember the old saying ; “ don’t believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see” ! Cheers.
  12. I googled “Sandman Saluki” and the first image that came up was one of my old saluki ! No relation , obviously ! LOL ! Cheers.
  13. Daywalkers, mate, it’s in their DNA ! LOL ! Cheers.
  14. A saluki from about 45 years ago; OOPS, sorry, I read the thread title and presumed it was about salukis ! LOL ! Cheers.
  15. You’ve just about quoted Saudi law verbatim ! LOL ! Most of which I agree with, by the way ! Cheers.
  16. Asian Labour Councillor. He said; “cut the throats of Tory’s and the far right” Not guilty. White wife of a Tory Councillor. She said; “ burn the mosques for all I care” Guilty and jailed for 32 months. Fair ? Not in my world…… Cheers.
  17. Yes, but I don’t know if it took. Cheers.
  18. Can’t see it registered under that name with the BWRA. Cheers.
  19. Looks like Trevlins Diamond, right age. I could be wrong but if it is it’s a top class dog, winning a lot this year. Cheers.
  20. Be careful about planting seeds to early! It took me three goes to get my green beans to germinate this year. Ive just planted my winter crops a few days ago, parsnips, turnips, chard and sprouts, they have all germinated with this heatwave and plenty water . Cheers.
  21. The fawn one. I know the lad who owns both and he said I could use either one. The black dog is tremendously fast but the fawn one is the winner over a longer distance and looks a stronger type to use over my type of bitch. I haven’t decided to do a mating yet , I’ll wait and see. I’ll be looking at a lot of dogs over in Ireland in December, might be easier at my age to bring one in rather than breed a litter. Cheers.
  22. Yes mate, they are, or were, they are around 7 now. The black one won the veteran scratch race at the Scottish Derby a couple of weeks ago in a faster time than the normal scratch races, and had been the fastest scratch dog for years, regularly breaking 8 seconds for 150 yards. The fawn one is faster than the black one when run over 270 out of greyhound traps. Maxs bitch bred from a non-ped champion and a lurcher is in pup to the black one, I don’t know of any dogs out of the fawn one. Cheers.
  23. It doesn’t mate. It went to big. The limit for scratch racing is 55lb. Cheers.
  24. Never heard him mention Salukis when I’ve spoken to him . He had the prefix Doxhope Deerhounds. He may have had the odd saluki but never seen him with one but pure deerhounds and deerhound lurchers are what he’s known for. Are you thinking of Rupert Slack ? He had deerhound crosses for years but I think he had coursing bred saluki types later Cheers.
  25. Karen from Ruweis Salukis used to run in those comps; Cheers.
