Tory MP and shadow minister Danny Kruger defected and joined Reform. Cheers.
-
Putting another slant on it; Every Tory defection is another nail in the Tory coffin. Farage can accept them as members , but then cherry pick them to be parliamentary candidates, and even then, not give them government positions if or when Reform come to power. Something like “ keeping your friends close, but your enemies closer “ ? Just me playing “devils advocate “ Cheers.

A bit like the BBC Television Tax ? Cheers.

No, he’s massively disillusioned with the left, I need to work on him to vote Reform Cheers.

My own brother worked for 45 years for the local Labour Council, a union convener and H&S manager and a card carrying Labour Party member. His “Road to Damascus “ moment came as he realised today’s Labour Party isn’t the same party he has supported all his life , and he tore up his membership card and left the party. So, to use another metaphor; “ leopards CAN change their spots” ! Cheers.

Kruger isn’t saying “I agree with Stalin, I’m going to become a communist” ! LOL ! He’s moving to a party that he thinks more represents his views, and leaving a party that has rejected his and the Tory’s historical views. I know your not calling me “naive”, I’m more hopeful than naive, in thinking he is doing the right thing, but I will always be sceptical of ALL politicians, some more than others. As the old Chinese saying goes; “we live in interesting times” ! Cheers.

Danny Kruger, a sitting Tory MP and shadow minister has just defected to Reform. I know many people will not like this, but he was to the right of the Tory Party and a Brexiteer and thinks the Tory’s don’t represent the right of British politics anymore, so I’ll accept him . Cheers.

Wilf , the “Overton Window “ is moving rightward, but it will never move far enough to Lowes right . The window represents the populations general consensus, and at the moment, we have a left wing government that completely rejects the direction of the window and the will of the people. Farage is a very shrewd politician and is saying what the window tells him the people want, I just hope his intentions match his rhetoric . Lowe, even though I agree with much of what he says, would be an anathema to the “middle ground” voters and without them he has absolutely no chance of ever fo

I’m open to listen to any alternative, but there isn’t one being suggested. Short of a military coup, I can’t see a viable alternative. Cheers.

The way I understand the way “net zero immigration policy” would work is that for every immigrant wanting to come in , would only be allowed if one had left. Id gladly swap an illegal Ethiopian or Somali for an Australian mining Engineer or a Japanese nuclear scientist, if that’s what we needed. Im sure Reform arent suggesting one illegal for another ! Contrary to what we would like, we will always need some, strictly controlled immigration. If we need a brain surgeon or a cancer specialist, or a nuclear engineer surely it’s best to import one until we get our act together

I remember my mum telling me about the Germans bombing Manors Goods Station in Newcastle. Our house was only about 500 yards away, my granny would say” eeh, there was butter running down Falconer street “. And we think we’ve got it bad these days …… Cheers.

Voldemort on the right ; Cheers.

Not really, I like some of their policies, such as raising the limit to pay income tax from £12,000 to £20,000 because it hasn’t been raised in line with inflation and “fiscal drag” is meaning more and more of the less well off are being dragged into paying more tax. People say “how would it be paid for ?”, well, a complete moratorium on overseas aid would be a start. I like their views on “Net Zero”, they align perfectly with my view. I like their policy on net zero immigration . As I said in an earlier post, I don’t expect Reform to be a national panacea, but they could h

Sad news on Ricky Hatton…… Cheers.

There was 300,000 lined the streets of Newcastle for the Cup Parade, it was absolutely nowhere near the numbers in London. Cheers.

When 52,000 came out of StJames Park on Saturday , it looked minuscule compared to the crowd in London. Cheers.

A new British Bill of Rights ? Cheers.

I don’t know if they want to limit it, I never said I did ? I was just replying to Jukel comment about the boats. Cheers.

Credible in that Farage and Reform arent straying too far to the right,( or left), that will alienate the “centre ground voters”. too much. It’s an absolute fact that you can’t win a General Election without taking the “ centre ground voters “ with you. This is why Labour are accusing Farage of going “far right” and the Tories are accusing Farage of tacking to the left ! As for Reform becoming the “Tory party”, it does concern me , but I see they are cherry picking who they will take from the Tories, they have refused to accept Suella Braverman, and her husband who had joined Refo

The way I understand it is that the boats, engines, life jackets etc, are manufactured in China, smuggled across porous, corrupt borders like Hungary, then , because of the Schengen, EU open borders agreement , travel to Germany for assembly and storage, then on to Belgium and France for use to cross the Channel. They could be intercepted at the EU border if it weren’t for corruption, or at the German, Belgian, French borders if it wasn’t for the EU’s Schengen Open Borders agreement. So Brexit may have removed the Dublin Agreement, but on the other hand the EU has made it incredibly
