A lot of Arab Muslims have white skin , freckles, green eyes and ginger hair. They are Circassians, originally from the Caucasus region but driven out by the Russians and settled in the Middle East, notably Lebanon and Syria and spread out from there. Cheers.

Reminds me of my best pals dad. He came over from Poland with his family after the war to work in the mines in South Wales. When we visited him, it would be straight out with the vodka and polish sausage. “You must eat when you drink” he would tell us, a shot of vodka and a hunk of sausage. He insisted only the Poles could make real vodka, “not like that Russian shit “ ! His wife would be bringing out all the Polish staples then he would get out the guitar or balilika. Caveat Emptor ! An old pal of mine worked for years in Saudi and China, retired early and went to live in Romania. He married a much younger woman and bought a small farm. His wife quickly went through his savings, houses, vehicles, etc for her family and when “the well run dry” she informed him they weren’t really married and the farm was in her name, not his and he came home poorer but wiser ! I’ve been to Southern Ireland and had a run or two with the two lurchers I took over. The lads in Northern Ireland have all sorts of dogs, lurchers, terriers, teckels , hounds and do it all, coursing, lamping , ferreting, shooting. A few dogs from here have went over to them, a litter brother to my brothers teckel is making a good reputation for itself for tracking wounded deer when stalking, and a few dogs have came over to us. The greyhound bitch my bitch is out of was sent over from Ireland. Its great to travel and see how others go about the game. Cheers.

I’ve been to Spain a few times but not for hunting. One thing that interests me is hunting in the Canaries or Malta with Podenco types, Ive done “normal” coursing around the world but hunting rabbits with a pack of Podencos would be something different and new . Cheers.

If you are working dogs to any degree you have to factor in injuries and vet bills. It’s sadly part of the game. If someone is happy with a dog that picks it’s runs, that’s fine, but it wouldn’t be for me, we all have different expectations, I just expect my dogs to try on anything they are slipped on. Cheers.

There’s a massive difference between a dog that picks its runs and a dog that has been run to a standstill. They will all Jack if they are run beyond their capabilities. It’s knowing when to stop. A dog that picks it’s runs is a lazy, exasperating cur. Just my opinion, of course. Cheers.
