I’ve used both white and brown malt vinegar but prefer the white for the simple reason the onions stay white. They taste the same if white or brown is used. I just use normal supermarket vinegar not the pickling vinegar, I use my own blend of spices. I guess that Sarsons pickling vinegar would work well but will be more expensive than ordinary malt vinegar. Cheers.

My last post was about the corruption in politics; this one is about the stupidity of politicians. Theres a leadership contest in progress for the Conservatives and it was whittled down to three, Cleverly, Jenrick and Badenoch. Cleverly was so far in front that the bookies stopped taking bets, so he thought he could rig the vote by getting some of his supporters to “lend” their votes to the challenger he feared least and getting rid of the one he feared most. But his chicanery backfired spectacularly when too many “leant” their votes and he came third and HE was eliminated !

Let’s have a look at only one situation where this country is so screwed up ; Sue Grey was the second highest Civil servant in the land. Supposedly impartial and fair, so she was asked to compile a report on “partygate”, which ultimately led to the downfall of a Conservative Prime Minister, Boris Johnston. It then came out that before compiling the report, she had been in negotiations to become the Leader of the Labour Parties Chief of Staff ! She got the job and demanded a salary of £170,000 . I just pickle the smaller onions of whatever type I’ve planted. I’m guessing you can pickle any type. Yes , equal parts warm water and white malt vinegar, bit of salt, you can use brown malt vinegar if you want. I make up my own spice mix; mustard seed, coriander seed, black pepper corn and a couple of bay leaves but you can buy ready mixed pickling spices. A tv chef said never use dried bay leaf for any cooking as it loses all flavour if not fresh, so I bought a small bay plant and now a year later it’s a small bush and I pick the leaves the day I use them. I know you were just after a bite from Ray, mate, but I’ve seen a few different types on my trips down under, and they do the jobs they are asked to do very well; Whippets; Staghounds; Waiting for a slip with a staghound and a ‘roo hound; ’Roo hound with a dash of whippet. They’ve hated us since the Sykes Picot Agreement dividing the Middle East up between the UK and France. They’ve hated us for going back on the Balfour Declaration promising the Palestinian homelands wouldn’t be given over to the Jews. They’ve hated us since we ended the British Mandate of Palestine and allowed it to become the Israeli State. They’ve hated us for a long time but didn’t have the means or wherewithal to bring that hatred to our shores . Now they have…… Cheers.

Labour are intrinsically antisemetic and pro Muslim. Jews by and large don’t vote for Labour and their vote is minuscule in the grand scheme of things. Muslims USED to vote overwhelmingly for Labour and have a large and growing demographic, but now the Muslim vote for Labour is wavering in favour of voting for independent Muslim candidates, I can see Labour moving even further away from the Jewish vote and ever closer to the Muslim vote. Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthi are Irans proxies, they are killing far more Israelis than Iran itself. What do you think of a bully who uses weaker acolytes to do their dirty work and get beaten up while the bully stays well out of the way and throws stones from a distance ? I was quite surprised at this , but looking deeper into it, it seems the Chaggosians from Mauritius will be allowed to return to the Chagos Islands but not to Diego Garcia, as we now have a 99 year lease on it. The Americans must be happy enough with this as they basically run Diego Garcia and have an airbase and deep water port on the island. There are B- 1 , B-2 and B52 bombers based there and a Space command Station. I remember the B52’s flying from there and stopping at Jeddah Air Base where we refuelled and replenished them on their way to Iraq to deliver “Shock & Awe “

According to reports hardly any got through same as last time, most landed in the desert. Iran couldn’t wipe Israel out . The Israeli airforce is far superior to Irans. And Israel always has the Sampson Option if they look like losing. The whole of the Arab world have tried before and failed, now it’s just Iran and it’s terrorist proxies. Major military powers in the area like Saudi, Jordan, UAE, Turkey would rather see see iran wiped out than Israel.
