    Is there anything you regular watch on television, any shows you really enjoy? There are a few shows i really enjoy and set on the sky planner, The Walking dead is a current favourite, i also watch the Ultimate Fighter and have just finished with the latest series of Sons of Anarchy and Supernatural...........

    with an older dog an electric collar does the trick! Why does everybody think the electric collar is the magic training aid? Its usually the lazy mans excuse to avoid putting time in, and before anyone says anything i have had electric collars in my training bag since the 90's, they are invalule in certain situations but require experience and timing, if you dont have both you will make the problem ten times worse............

    A mate bred a litter and him and another mate kept one back each, saw one a couple of months ago and the other two weeks ago, big strong pups already at 6 months or so............

    Dog wardens will be finished for the night, taking it to the local cop shop is an option, so is the local kennels........ Good on you for caring, just dont tuen the fecker loose as you can guarentee the owner will then turn up, plus a pup that age is a danger to itself and drivers...

    The thing is you can NEVER be truely self sufficient, you can grow produce, rear meat and perhaps barter for a few things but Gocompare aren't interested in swapping 5lb of sprouts and a leg of lamb for this years car insurance etc, so although you can supplement your lifestyle and save money, to be truly self sufficient would require you to live a VERY basic lifestyle.......

    I disagree Raiye, i have several friends who work lurchers, but of those perhaps only 8 are close enough who i trust enough and know they work and keep there dogs how i would like any pups i bred to be kept/reared. If i bred a litter tomorrow off my dogs i may rehome 2 to those friends, mainly as though despite how good my dogs may be there kennels are already full and they have enough dogs for the work they get. I have been offered a couple of truely excellent dogs off mates over the years but i have had to decline as i have enough dogs.................

    Climbed Everest in 96, solo flew a Cessna around the world in 53 days, walked from Perth to Sydney in 207 days, yet all these pale into insignificance the day i read a 3 turns/whin thread and understood them totally.............

    Quite fancied it in Oz, got books on self sufficiency over there, growing products that are almost impossible here, such as tobacco lol

    I will get it,thanks for the tip I have done the self-sufficiency bit abroad where it was relatively easy as I had a couple of quid tucked away for emergencies and a small boat and house,I prefer my comforts nowadays,we soften with age,but wouldnt mind a couple of acres somewhere just in case,always worth while preparing for emergencies 4 hectares plus house with stream on the land - 55,000 euros catalonia region Been looking for future reference :laugh: About 3 hours work?

    No she's not crated and she is left in the house with my other dogs, she exercied 2hours somes 3 per days. She is given a pedigree jumbone before we leave the house. The times range from one hour to 3 hours to longer then that. I've had her since she was 11weeks. Many thanks. So its an ongoing problem, some of the things i would suggest you are doing, exercise/something to chew on, and the dog even has company. Its a problem thats baffling at times, i have a lurcher, had him since 7 weeks, for the first year of his life he was kenneled and never made a noise, then i moved, he came

    It can be a difficult and very frustrating problem, is the dog crated? I find that crates can help with dogs displaying the problem, a few more details, how long is she left, is she exercised/fed prior to being left, how long have you had her etc etc...........

    Bit of a generalisation matey, i think its an old wives tale the cross has no brains. I think a saluki bull mix from the right stuff is a great running dog imo.......
