I remember 25 years ago just walking down the street with an air rifle, entering the local woods/rough ground and plinking away, nowdays you would be fecked, also taking the terrier down the local tip and brook ratting, lamping the local fields with a collie dog, permission wasn't even a thing we thought about back then, it didnt't seem a big deal, if the farmer came over, he asked you to piss off and that was that............

Those dogs are amazing at hunting up foxes, BUT i was less than impressed with their drive to actually get the job done, far too much fencing for a "safe" hold for my liking, and in my opinion those dogs would fail miserably if you were lamping them single handed with any regularity. As i said great at hunting them up but for what most folk use they would fall well below standard. All irrelavent for me nowdays as i only hunt brer rabbit Edited to add i haven't seen the new film, my opinions are based on the old dvd......

I'd say to those opposed or indifferent to hunting then yes, they see it as an upper class sport and in my opinion most have more of a problem with the supposed "toffs" than hunting itself. For those of us who have been hunting we know that folk from all walks of life follow hounds -
Breeding a litter is all about personal preference/standards and reasons. MY personal opinion is that there are far too many litters for sale, most of these are from sub-standard parents in my opinion and the reason so many dogs are passed around with no respect is because most are pot lickers. This isn't a dig at you personally, not at all and personally i would never breed a litter of lurchers because a bitch had good conformation and trainability. Im planning on having a litter from my dogs, the bitch is 5 this year and has proved herself working over many seasons and my dog is around 10

They do say imitation is the highest form of flattery, its just they didn't imitate it very well. Had collars/couplings and slips from Aaron and there are none better, the durability and quality is 100%......
