Just wondering if any members work or have worked lurchers with a good percentage of EBT blood? I have a bitch here with a quarter EBT in her make up, but apart from reading something in a Plummer book and the pure bred dogs in Darcys Game dog book i see very little. Now i know this is because the vast majority of EBT's have the athletisism of a disabled sloth and the working ability of a Mancunian teenager but there must be a few gems out there???

In my experience the harder a dogs lifes, injuries, heavy workload has a dramitic effect on the dogs career, had a dog work very well until he was 8/9 and then over the summer aged badly and was retired to a life of sunning in the kennel and being fed treats.........

Those dogs are amazing at hunting up foxes, BUT i was less than impressed with their drive to actually get the job done, far too much fencing for a "safe" hold for my liking, and in my opinion those dogs would fail miserably if you were lamping them single handed with any regularity. As i said great at hunting them up but for what most folk use they would fall well below standard. All irrelavent for me nowdays as i only hunt brer rabbit Edited to add i haven't seen the new film, my opinions are based on the old dvd...... whats wrong with a dog fencing 2 get a throat hold not a safe
