  1. Brilliant little guns the 99’s, I can’t think of anything in the same league for the money.??
  2. Yerr, well......I don’t quite know what to say to that, other than glad you’ve pulled through pal?
  3. Very good jimmy, but what’s a “FALOK A P” ? ?
  4. Be careful SD, there’s a strange fella living in them there woods.....?
  5. Don’t we bleddy just ! ? That’s another to add to the list..... ?
  6. I’m interested in seeing these, unfortunately I don’t own one......?
  7. Nice one fella, I took mine out today, just had a plink with it for a bit of practice shooting some small crab apples, and shredded a tin can just for fun. Lovely little rifles when they’re nicely tuned?? I used h&n pellets as well, ftt’s no less.......?
  8. If you really fancy a rimfire, you don’t want the savage (wmr), you don’t like hmr, and you don’t want it in .22lr, fox capable at 100 yards then it’s got to be .22 magnum? personally, I’d go for .22 hornet, even though you don’t want to reload, there’s an incentive as they’re cheaper to run than the magnum rimfires if you do.
  9. No, it’s both of you.....???
  10. Don’t be too hard on yourself Mark. Like you say, practice, practice, practice and you’ll get some good groups eventually. Try 38 yards for starters......??? ??
  11. Well, don’t get me wrong, I think jsb’s are generally the best available, but I’ve found some of the h&n’s are ok. Like the finale match for example, not a long range pellet, but my hw100 will shoot them pellet on pellet at 25 yards. FTT’s are good in some of my guns as well. I haven’t used any pellets other than jsb in my fx, the reason is that they’re so good in that gun, there’s no point trying anything else.
  12. Yes it could be a different batch. I used to use the 8.4’s in my hw100 but when I was shooting at 50 yards I found that the 10.3’s had the edge and not much difference in drop either. Nothing to do with jsb, but I picked up a few thousand of old stock mixed h&n pellets from a local ironmongers/general store who’s winding down the business, although he’s been saying that for years. Anyway, the deal was too good to pass up. Amongst these are some tins of finale match and finale match high speed (the pistol version). These are spot on in the hw100 out to 25 yards, but they start to open up a
  13. Good shooting vm, if they’re the jsb’s, they are superb in my hw100 as well.?
  14. Yerr, don’t say anything, but I think he thought I meant age.............?
  15. Talking of auto’s again, how did you find the marlin SD? I see them for sale, various models, for not a lot of money.
  16. 453 is basically a 452 with a set trigger. As you say SD, nothing wrong with the 452 action. I don’t know much about the 457’s other than the price has gone up. Seen them in the £800 plus bracket now, so up there with sako’s and anschutz etc price wise.
  17. Good point abound zeroing, I’ve never thought about that as it’s always been added anyway, but legally you’d be stuffed without it really.
  18. Thanks deker, I’ll have a look. I haven’t ruled out marlins either.
  19. Nice going vm, I love my hw100ks, must take it out more?
  20. Thanks for that SD, I’ve also been looking at brno/cz 581 and 511, they’re dirt cheap and seem well made but I don’t know anyone whose had one.
  21. I don’t know if they’ve improved, probably not. Like you say deker, 60-80 yards is all I used them out to, and at that range they were flat. They were amazingly accurate in an old bsa sportsman. I don’t think many rifles like them and tend to spray them all over the place, but when they connect they hit hard at those ranges. CCI make a fragmenting version of the stinger, I’d like to try some of those, if I could source any I’d buy a box in the name of experimental science ? How did you find the 597 SD? I’m looking out for a semi auto .22, got a slot to fill?
