  1. Drat. I was hoping for either a gory gutting or hoof through the lions dead.
  2. I knicked a copy of Hobby Farms from my vet when I went to pick up Kye's dog who had been run over by some dick ... awesome mag and I can't wait to have the spare cash to get a subscription!
  3. Hungarian Wax Peppers are a really good, very prolific AVERAGE heat chili, similar to Anaheim and Poblanos I'd say. They are basically like a spicy green pepper, very meaty so I can use as a food as well as a spice. I planted 4 plants this year and have put up several quarts of them (1 in vineagar, the rest proper canned) and then roasted, peeled and froze a bunch, and STILL have dozens still on the plants. I personally like things hot, but Kye is a bit of a fairy when it comes to spicy food. He's WAY better now than he used to be (thank heck!), when I want something hot I'll hold out the
  4. what was the falling out about?
  5. when you said she was excited, what exactly did she do? Then you said she was chilled? Being excited around stock is not a good thing with pups. Was she IN with them or was she kept apart by a leash or fence. Have you had her around fowl? Other dogs? Does she know what "no" means in the kennel/house?
  6. well cute kids on here, too bad about the parents
  7. BigBulls I'd love to get the name if you don't mind, don't know if we'd have them here but it would be a start. Saw an add in the freetrader for 4 ewes and 2 lambs, but I think they are regular old sheep that need to be sheared. I guess we could always get them and have lamb & mutton in the freezer? Pops I'll check on that forum, thanks for the info. Oh and no it's not me in the pic, I don't wear that many rings ... and I think I'm the lucky one! ladies .... it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month .... take care of them!
  8. IrishPup that is some wound
  9. The Amish have an interesting way to deal with their issues ... I met an Amish dude this past weekend whose wife was screwing a (non-Amish) deliveryman. The HUSBANDS punishment was to #1 have to continue handmilking his cows but dumping the milk for 6 months; and #2 getting stuck with his wife as they do not allow divorce in Amish communities. The Elders sit down when situations needing disciplining come up, and cook up these schemes to deter future problems. Nothing happened to the wife other than having a VERY unhappy husband, which I can imagine has been a living hell for her (and rightf
  10. and you don't have to shear them? I want some sheep but Kye refuses to have "poxy maggoty sheep" running about the place ... so my task is to find out about the ones that shed ... and then I'll get a dozen of them! He never set a number limit on me! Anyone else know anything about these types?
  11. carrying PROPER weight is different than extra or light weight ... too thin is no good as they can't keep their energy up, roly poly fatso is no good either, they need to be fit.
  12. well done ... does she have any plans other than paying bills with the donation?
  13. I didn't know she was a singer, I thought she was just a comedianne!
  14. I thought I was doing something wrong when I tried one! Glad to hear it's not just me!
  15. tight properly strung barbwire isn't much of a problem, it is the saggy limp poorly hung that is the nightmare! We've had 2 decent tears already this year and the season's not even started

    CENSORED

at first I wanted to know what in the hell was going on (no weekend internet access), but now I can only think of the saying "Ignorance Is Bliss"
  17. I'm not one but I sure wish I could go back 20 years and make some different choices! I'd be a nurse or veterinary nurse in a heartbeat, good for you for looking ahead now, good luck and study hard!
  18. we've had raccoon, rabbit, badger, whitetail deer, red fox, grey fox, groundhog, feral and barn cats, coyote, skunk, mice, rats and birds of staggering numbers in cornfields. Oh and a longhaired hamster If you have a dog with a good nose to help you, it is amazing what you'll get even with the crops still up.
  19. If you have a dog (terrier, lurcher, gundog, whatever) that has been successful at it's given task, but then has gone and done some things that you just weren't sure about, how much time do you give for the dog to re-prove itself? Or do you never trust the dog again? I've seen dogs fail (for some reason or other, known and unknown) for the first time and get done, and I've seen others have excuse after excuse made for them (good blood so can't off it, worked sore or injured, just coming into season, just getting out of season, bitch in season at home etc) So what is the difference bet
