Lol we were there last September?

How I see it is if the sighting system uses natural available light its ago. Any artificial amplification of the light via a device is a no go.

Walked around the great orme yesterday (Llandudno). 7 miles of it! My foot and leg was agony. Stopped at the pub by the tram station. Wound a pint down the Mrs and me. Only lager but we giggled most of the last mile!

All steel is in a plastic wad mate. That's why it's all nonsense! Even the degradable wads have questions unanswered! Like what exactly is the residue left behind etc.
-
Well I took a stroll with the Franchi and some reloads, I need to use up my old reloading components, they've been sitting around for decades! I just scooped about 22gns of Alliant green dot into the cases and dropped an ounce of shot on a fibre wad and cards. Worked out well.

My first double was a Baikal. Couldn't shoot it at all, blamed the chokes so I cut it down to 24&1/8"" barrels, cylinder and cylinder. Still couldn't shoot it ?
-
The trigger is very good also but benefits from a lighter spring.
-
You dropped on there mate, ?
-
457, ? I honestly can't say which I prefere, the 452, 455 or the 457. They are all that good imo.
-
Might come in handy if you happen on a loose fence post!
-
Never heard of them mate. Get'm shot.

I have buddy, silencers get caked up often with a mix of bullet lube and powder residue. While some may not get filled with the stuff and maybe even self clean to some extent others do get a build up. I agree about 22 barrels, don't clean them unless that if a really bad ammunition has been used that had nearly zero bullet lube. Possible leading could result. Good ammo, just shoot.

Did you get to shoot the mouse gun?
-
Is Phil still alive? Phil, Phil, where art thou Phil?
-
That's great, for a minute I thought you were saying I was wrong when all along you were in fact agreeing with me ?
-
Uglies are a safe bet mate. You can have my Tula hammer gun if you want to come and get it.
-
Been doing the same. The mouse gun does a good job of it.
-
You know best I guess....
-
Oh no, that's awful, nothing worse when they are throwing themselves at you. You need a muzzleloader ?
-
Yep, my 222's use to take them at 250 regularly to. Light barrels. A work colleague just got 6.5 creedmore ruger precision rifle. Had him over to test it. The whole rig must be approaching 18lbs! He bought it to stalk roe!! Not going to happen! I did manage to shoot it off hand at 200yds and hit the target but it was very difficult. Hate to say it but it shot no different to all my lighter cf rifles except 22 hornet and 17 Remington to 600yds.

I have no horse in this contest but I guarantee in a head to head predetermined walk on my patch I will shoot more vermin with my hmr than someone lugging a heavy rifle around in any caliber! There is no best caliber, they all work. Its just the ones with longer legs increase pressure to perform on the user and certainly increase pressure on his wallet because now he needs a higher spec moderator and then a higher speck scope, then higher spec NV, then some kind of trolly to carry it etc etc. Just gets a little bit daft after a while. My last two fox were under 100yds with a rifle

Never ceases to amaze me why folk in the UK buy heavey barrels. Give me a light weight barrel anyway. After all, I'm not shooting hundreds of prairie dogs!

It was an intense moment. Typical slinky, she came from the opposite direction than I was expecting, had the wind been from the prevailing I would of never seen her, again! When the dark shape did loom out of the darkness she was only around 50-60yds. I had heck of a job getting the rifle to bear silently. She stopped on hearing a sling swivel. A quick shoulder shot dropped her. Then the cursing and then she resumed her original course all be it crippled. Shot two, a moving target shot put her down for good. Shot three was to complete the necessary. So with all that excitemen

I'll send it to you lol.

RIP slinky. Slinky the barron vixen passed away at 5:18am this morning. After many a time evading her adversary her time came. She did however have the final word, fox blasphemy was uttered with her last breath. Although I didn't understand I could imaging what she was saying. I congratulated her as I stroked her head then laid her to rest. Good girl slinky, I take my hat off to you.
