  1. I just hope she didn't describe the stink of my muck to it Dave ?
  2. I've been shooting winged vermin on a farm for a couple of years now. I shot some more yesterday. The farmer came to me and informed me of some 130acres near to my home, I didn't know about it I said. He told me to go and have a look around and if I like it help myself! I've been tonight and it's a lovely piece of ground. Mostly silage, maize and pasture. I've seen rabbits, hares, pheasants, partridge, a woodcock, pigeon and rooks, oh and i found a fox earth. Happy is an understatement! Just need my foot to get better!
  3. Do you mean Chebsey? Norton Bridge? Nice around there. I would love to mate but my time is all taken up Dave ☹ Thank you though ??
  4. It's very smart Dave. I was on a farm after work shooting crows. I had to stand up for three hours waiting for just a few birds. I wished I had you smart arrangement I can tell you....
  5. That sounds like for range use only to me, it still appears that lead shot from a muzzleloader for hunting is not allowed, under the proposals. I just don't think many appreciate the limited velocity achievable from a muzzleloader shotgun. Lead is thus perfect!
  6. It was the gay beretta that give it away!
  7. Home made red dot that failed under recoil ?
  8. Just The one box The one? Yep I can't see much sense in shooting a 22 anymore! When it was cheap it was worth putting up with. Now you may as well fork out that bit more for better.
  9. It's why most of us go out at night and want moderators! All sorts of things have to go on under the radar in the UK!
  10. Vegans and generations brought up to believe everything they watch on TV are our national pests!
  11. No one mentions buckshot in the UK often but seeing I have a few lbs of #4buck and Alliant Herco I thought I would have a go. I failed to remember to photograph the pattern tonight but its looking good so far. Certainly fox capable at 40yds. It's a simple load of 27 #4buck on fibre and nitro cards burning 25gns of Alliant Herco. It seems I have to see little to no rib with buckshot compared to birdshot, bizarrely. The photo taken by a friend was pulled from a video he took. At half speed you can see the full cycle of the long recoil action. In the photo the barre
  12. Yep, noticed that years ago buddy. My take on it is that and cartridge that uses the slower end of the spectrum of powder choice will always feel nicer to shoot. Incidentally 308 likes mid burn speeds and can produce a more snappy recoil pulse. Add the fact that heavier bullets are used in the 308 and you can get a bit of a kick. Definitely stock shape and its weight plays a large part of how recoil is transmitted to us. Then you have difference between shooters. Some cradle into the rifle so both user and rifle recoil as one and some hold the rifle loosely thinking any dis
  13. That won't be a hallmark of the cartridge, most likely a particular rifle issue, if at all one thinks it is an issue even etc.
  14. Wow, I thought that might be a hint to fast for 204.
  15. I've had two 308. Many mock it but I loved mine. Very versatile for UK shooting and hunting.
  16. 25-06 Remington Beats 6.5 Creedmoor? — Ron Spomer Outdoors WWW.RONSPOMEROUTDOORS.COM The little known 25-06 Remington can outperform the 270 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor, and with better bullets...
  17. I shot the creed to 600yds the other week and yep it was impressive but in all honesty it wasn't much different to another friends 270. I haven't looked but I wouldn't be at all surprised if 25-06 trumped them both!
  18. Hmmm h322, lavly stuff ? Wait, are using h322 in the 243 ??
