  1. Think she has just accepted I am unhinged and there nothing she can do about it. In fact she sent me this!
  2. Where is that whiskey bottle....
  3. Confined to barracks! Mrs has only gone and invited guests! I'd rather be looking for crows or photographing blackcap but oh no I'm in lockdwn ?! I hope some of you are escaping?? Better get reading this....
  4. Another! Headed straight for the lambs! 115 paces. dog fox. That's the sytong on a fixed px 3-9. It's a bit of a juggle getting it in focus and a compromise has to be made somewhere. I've sacrificed close range a little but on the whole it's a lighter package and just point and shoot.
  5. Is there any YouTube videos on them. They are cheap but doubt they are rubbish.
  6. The 66, add on. I preferred the image and the position of the control buttons over the pard 007 and it is ightly more compact.
  7. I use a sytong 66 and really like it. I tried a pard 007 but returned it!
  8. Blooming eck lad, send that to country file!
  9. Use to use a 308 for everything with hornady 110gn and heavier for deer.
  10. I've had a bit of a swap around. I was never happy with the add on on this hawke scope on the 457 so I tried it on the 455 which has a 3-9 redfield I got off baldcoot a couple of years ago and do you know what, it seems much better and simpler some how! So I've had to rezero two rifles, not easy to find somewhere out of this wind but I think we are good to go now but after a quick check in the dark later.
  11. Top banana Si ? We don't hear of this, edit...hard work, on country file do we!
  12. On the way home I checked the barley shed and shot 6 rats too. Them rats make an awesome pop noise when shot with the 17!
  13. Cz 457 17hmr. Hawke 4-16 x50 and a sytong66 add on nv. Spotting with red light.
  14. ...no no! There are some wee lambs out tonight. Dog and vixen. Milk has stopped. The cubs will take some finding, they are on a neighboring shoot and I bet the keeper won't let me look for them! It's a dirty job but someone has to do it. 53 paces for one and near 100 for the other.
  15. We get a few hobbies around here and they have hammered the local shallows.
  16. Lol, my favourite bird for heralding summer is the willow warbler. The chiffchaff herald spring and the willow warbler heralds summer. Only though I don't expect to hear one until end of April but I heard one over a week ago! I wonder if therefore it's going to be a good summer ?
  17. Found two foxes tonight. One winded me and the other was a second away from a shot but it slipped away. Nearly!
  18. And the senior guys is???? Does he have an agenda other than getting them gone???? Is he a barrister???? I would asked him to kindly supply the information in law to back his statement but that's just me. I'm airing towards " get someone else to sort the problem" opinion! Sorry Deker.
  19. I beg to differ, the emphasis is on artificial lighting, be it in any form other than natural. An optical sight, telescopic sight only uses natural light unless used in conjunction with a lamp. Which would make the combination illegal. We are splitting hairs really. No where in law have I ever read that the shooting of birds classed as a pests can not be shot at night with anything other than a shotgun. If not then there are a lot of feral pigeon shooters in trouble!
  20. Can't beat lifting one off its nest! Old dog, old man, old gun and old ammo. Express 36g #1.
  21. I don't really get what the problem is. There are no time limits as to when you can and can not flight shoot a pond or coast line. There are some rules around shooting deer if I remember correctly within one hour of sunrise and sunset. The rules are clear to me. The very fact electronic sighting devices and illuminated shooting is illegal means therefore it is NOT illegal to shoot at night with natural, if any, light. It could be argued an illuminated reticle is illegal but man you would be extremely unlucky if someone a; noticed and b; cared! I understand why everything has to be
