I heard pellets are going to be 500 a ton soon! I've heard of poults at 8 quid. It's not very sustainable. I'm lucky as a one man band. Keep the vermin down and let the birds breed a few.

So sifting through some old HMR ammo for cracked neck and out pops two purple tipped bullets from an already opened box of remington ammo. The purple tipped ammo has a hornady head stamp. Any ideas which loafing these are??

Thanks you two. I've been using the on board I R. I will check my torches for pill type and obtain a 940nm pill or buy a complete unit, certainly for next winter.

Thanks Si. The thing is slinky is very sly in that it won't give me a pattern where I can intercept. Also the farm doesn't have lights on. There is one property with IR sensor lights but I've not seen the fox near there. As the morning get lighter I might just be revealing a slight pattern. All winter I've managed to get some photos in a particular place at a time and place I'm seeing it at first light now. I don't mind getting up early anyway. I love how different the country, wildlife and light is at first thing. While on the subject, what is the type of IR the clever ones

It's a little weird, slinky knows IR and looks at the camera then keeps away. She may be a little dog. Or barron. Apart from that a tiny fox has been coming that does not look at the camera! I watched slinky run across a frosty field Sunday morning through binoculars and I thought dog fox, smallish one. I've been putting carrion on the mound the other side of the ditch.

I just went to check the camera. I had my Franchi auto with me. No pictures of slinky but I'm getting closer all the time. I've watched it run a similar line three times now at a similar time but it goes cold when me and the dog poke around to much. I'm going to leave it for now until weekend but need to be at a place well before light and wait!

A main spring broke on one of my flintlocks and although I repaired it it was not as reliable as it was so months ago I ordered a new one. Finally it arrived this week. Naturally I wanted to test it and yep its back to it old self again.

I got me a new mount to allow my add on to be a little more forward so my neck isn't all screwed up! Except that I would like it a little bit more forward but the rings are lower than I would of liked and prevent this ? Oh well. It is better and in a pinch I can shoot it off hand if needed. After zeroing I shot of sticks and via the sytong 66 four rounds from 200yds down to 50yds in wind.

Shot thousands of rabbits with 22's. Some years with a mod and some years without. Sometime subsonic ammo and sometimes he and you know what? It made no difference to the numbers shot at all. Some run Some don't. Put the mod in a draw and go shooting.
