I dont care about the spelling and threats, as said before there are, always have been and always will be, idiots out there. What i dont like is all the bragging about things that any self respecting hunter would be ashamed of or at the very least keep quiet about.

Dont be a dick, im know im pissing into the wind on this one but can you honestly say you agree with all the crap spouted on here?
  3. Good shooting Steve, i've always used square or tubes but recently changed to flatbands. I make them alot lighter than the hunter bands though. Might lose a bit of power but quieter, easier pull and bands last ages. To be honest i dont think theres much in it, if you can shoot well enough any decent bands will do but if you cant shoot then the best bands in the world wont help you! To the OP, i use a double cavity .44 call lee mold, about £30 but well worth it

Dickheads is one thing but if the blatant disregard for quarry is pissing me off then imagine what it does to anti's and, much more importantly, people who have yet to decide what they think?
  5. I may be speaking out of turn here, im sure i'll be told if i am, but there seem to be a record number of idiots on here at the moment, mainly in the lurcher section. I love this site and have learnt a huge amount, met some very good friends and had some excellent sport all down to using it. Recently though it seems to be inudated with fools posting things that will eventually come back to bite us all in the arse and its making me think about whether to post or not. The number of genuine write ups of hunting posts is going down and seem to be put up by a very few people. I dont know if its a r
  6. Cheers TOMO, it sure is this recession has done wonders for my days out this season, not doing my bank balance any good but you cant have everything lol! Cheers rascal, she did well yesterday im really looking forward to next season Dogger, the sneezing all started with nettle stings but everytime she sneezed she sucked up more dust! Blackstaff had to move her onto the grass in the end! By the way, what happened with Parkers litter brother? Did you find him a working home in the end?
  7. An interesting post. Over winter im usually too busy with the dogs, lamping, ferreting, beating etc. The rifle only comes out if asked, usually for feral pigeons. The dark nights, to me, are wasted shooting i'd far sooner work the dogs and the same goes for the daytime. I do, however, enjoy the summer evenings out with the rifle and, just about now before too much leaf comes through, a crack at the squirrels. Its not pest control, just sport and the chance to top up the freezer. With rabbits i try to be selective, i have no desire to shoot does in kit or kits that would be better left
  8. You have two problems, rifle, pellets etc has been covered above. The second is more difficult, its hard to learn fieldcraft without doing it or seeing it. Its something very hard to explain in words, is there anyone on here local to you who you could go out with a few times? There is so much that you could learn just by seeing someone else hunt, things that more experienced people just do or see and react to automatically. I'd take you out if you are anywhere near sussex? Just checked, your in lincs, probably a bit far but im sure someone more local could do the same?
  9. Thats more like it, much better with a few pics on the post! The pics on photobucket are really good. Twas a really good day, i forgot about Pearl's log pile mark in the write up and Dolly's sneezing fit!
  10. As a trip down memory lane - priceless! Great guns, wish i'd never sold mine. No idea what its actually worth though. Let me know if you want to sell it, might treat myself
  11. No work today due to material cock up. Contemplated ratting but Blackstaff had a bit of new ground that the owners wanted ferretted. I thought we'd finished for the year but as it was new ground we decided to give it a go anyway. It was Blackstaff, myself and a buddy of his. We took Parker, Willow my pup, Dolly the staff and her daughter Pearl. We had the long nets and three of my jills. There were plenty of rabbits in evidence when we arrived and after a quick chat with the owner we started on a sprawling open bury. We surrounded it with longnets and worked Parker and Dolly inside
  12. which vets did you use and how much was it, if you dont mind me asking .last hob i had done the vets fcuked up and his balls shriveled up and died of cause they werent at fault regards phill Alright Phil, i used Victoria Vets in Burgess Hill for that hob you gave me. They had two goes at it but got it right 2nd time round. It was £45 i think?
  13. THL at its best, internet hard man threatening someone he's never met over a disagreement about ferret diet! Honestly, cant you find anything more useful to do with your time?!?!?
  14. Really nice write up mate, i have to say i was expecting a soundtrack of blackstaff's ratting song to go with the pictures but maybe we'll save that for next time! Could be a no 1 hit if marketed right! Could use the smilie rats as the album cover! On a more serious note, your pup did grand for her first time out and im pleased you enjoyed it.
  15. The catapult is only handy in a few good hand,s.Most of us could,nt hit a barn door. With any. Its all about practice, got more pictures but they're all too big. Im no expert compared to some but i've taken a fair few bits and pieces with mine. I'd feel lost mooching without one thats for sure!
  16. thank you pal. Where the f**k are all the genunie hunters.... stand up for our sports against low life pretend hunters. Its always the same, in my eyes there is a HUGE divide between hunters and people who just want to kill stuff. Unfortunately this divide is pretty much invisible to the general public so we all get tarred with the same brush. Its even worse since the ban as the same people who just want to kill things tend to get a kick out of blatantly breaking the law so now even more of them are in the dog game. As far as cats go, i cant see why anyone would want to kill a kids
  17. Fishfish seems to be getting a slagging, i've never had any issue with him and, although i make my own cattys, i've bought bands off him which were good and came ontime. I think he's sold a fair few of his catapults and has plenty of satisfied customers, maybe people would be better contacting him direct with any problems rather than making snide remarks in public? Catcher1, is it all catapults you dont rate for hunting or just these ones? To the OP, they look good and the prices are fair too. Seen them on ebay for a while now, gamekeepa is it?
  18. Cant see why anyone would want their pup to rag and then eat a rabbit? I prefer mine to catch and retrieve, thats what i aim for anyway. Still, takes all sorts
  19. I dont know about anyone else but i wouldnt want one even for £30! They are nowhere near as good as a cahinsaw smaker. I couldnt say why it is because it seems like it should be brilliant, loads of smoke, easy to use etc, BUT they dont bolt rats as well as the tried and tested!!!
  20. It was a good day, shame you missed it. We are going to have another go sunday if you fancy it? Trying to get Water Badger to grace us with his presence, have to be on best behaviour though
  21. LOL would've been handy, herdwick spent the day running back and forth! Dont know why Ollie does it, little toad! If you can get away next sunday do you fancy an early start, have a crack at the trout at chalk springs followed by a bit of ratting?
