    The Jab

I didnt go anywhere near people if could help it before all this, I have no intention of starting now! It would be nice if the masses buggered off back to town though, all my nice out the way spots I've been going years are wrecked by the influx of people wanting to discover the countryside. With any luck now primark and pubs are back open it will calm down a bit.

    The Jab

I've had both mine so too late to worry about it now. I cant see the harm personally, I've had jabs to allow me to travel overseas plenty of times and the normal ones you have as a kid. I cant see there's a huge difference
  3. Its was a haunch of CWD venison, no idea what the make of Dutch oven is, I've had it years.I should've taken more pics really, did a full roast with the haunch, roast sweet potato, onions and courgettes. Only thing I bought were the sweet potatoes.
  4. I had a load of them. they were good for a while but if the traps are in for any length of time they can cut there way out. Mine are a cats cradle of zip ties and string now where I've fixed the holes. Probably time to shell out for some new ones
  5. Thank you very much. It is hard work but I'm loving it ...... mostly!
  6. A shit ton of money to repair all the things that break down or need buying lol! To be fair I'm hoping that soon the money hemorrhaging phase will slow down a bit. I bought it as totally overgrown scrubland with no access, fencing or services. I've got a road and water in now, part of it fenced, cleared enough to start a holding and starting to be able to produce things off it on a small scale. Next year im hoping to get a barn up and electric in which will be a game changer. Will be able to upscale what I'm doing now and, hopefully, be able to produce enough to have a bit of a
  7. Its good in the summer, winter can be a slog
  8. Encourage him, it'll be the best thing he ever did. I went to Africa at that age and stayed a while but I think if I'd picked a different destination I would've never come back
  9. Just to clarify greb, I'm not having a dig. It's that unswerving belief the we are right and know best that allowed us to colonise half the world. I dont necessarily agree with it but I do do have a degree of admiration for it
  10. And now telling a guy who works on a cattle farm about cows. Hats off to you mate ?
  11. Love the fact that, as someone in England who has never caught a pig, you feel like you can tell a bloke in oz, who has, how its done. There's confidence for you ?
  12. I only go in garages to buy diesel anyway and I'm happy to chuck a mask on doing that. 5 minutes a week is no bother to me and, even if it does no good, it surely does not harm? If someone else feels more comfortable by you doing it then I dont really understand why you wouldn't? Some people just can't seem to bear being told what to do, if a mask in shops is all you got to moan about I'd say your doing OK

    Dublin now

Depends where you are I guess. Round here people make the best of it and get on with life. No idea what's its like in town though, never went there before all this and certainly won't be now
  14. I hate them. The burning lanterns are worse though
  15. Me and a mate went on a stay away ferreting trip years ago. I slept in the van in 2 sleeping bags with the 2 dogs in the outside one. He took a tent and some shit argos camping kit. In the night I could hear him shouting that he was freezing and wanted to drive home, I was toasty and warm and wanted to go ferreting so ignored him. Got up in the morning and everything was thick frost, he was in the tent nigh on hypothermic and blue in the face, could hardly move. It had been -6 all night which isn't that cold, compared to Alaska or somewhere, but nearly killed him. Just shows you need the right
  16. If i could only have one it'd be this dog when he was young. Not a world beater at anything but try his heart out at anything and put on a decent show
  17. This week's adventure, the fishing was dire as was the weather but dinner round the fire and a catch up with old mates was worth the trip
  18. I used mine for a 4 day 3 night mountain hunt in New Zealand. The pack was brilliant. We were packing meat out so it just kept getting heavier, weighed in at the end as 32kg plus rifle. The kiwi who took me was carrying 39kg plus rifle and made it look easy, I was struggling by the end to be honest. The atmos took it fine though, no stretch or strain marks on it
