how can kibble be natural to dog's or ferrets? I would say all but the resident half wit on here feed meat. as for feeding rabbit causes killing in absolute bxxxxcks. ferrets are ferrets some will stay with a rabbit and have to be dug to. others will leave it and move on. you don't know what they are till you work them.
I am very partial to whites. getting back into it last year I couldn't find any well bred whites. so ended up with 2 coloured Jill's. not complaining but whites are always first choice for me.
as you say most dogs. I have seen dogs yap and still catch it's quarry. there are many theories on yapping be it entering too young, pure excitement. etc. thing is a dog yaps or it doesn't you will never change that.
a Ferret is a bog standard ferret. to me they are coloured ones or whites. don't give a monkeys trumpet what colour eyes they have only one thing matters is they work. the standard ferrets you are talking about have stood the test of time. I will leave this post now has the resident half wit will shortly be on and the thread will turn into a farce.
Nice pup sure you will do well with it. don't know what it is with dog's I can't seem to take to them and I have been around some good ones. always bitches for me.
Cheers, that's the one. I wouldn't have remembered name myself. he was a regular advertiser. a bloke called George Kelly was also a regular advertiser then. I bought a bitch pup off Kelly it made a cracker, well pleased with it.
there is a cracking little film of him on YouTube tomo. Great pics it's called Ted by patsmash. would put it up but old fart like me don't know how to.
I like the look of Ted very much. enjoyed Magwitch pics and posts in the past. I am going to try and produce something close to Ted in a couple of years using my own first cross bitch to a dog of strike while the irons hot breeding as I believe that's how he was bred.
you can get a good variation in first crosses. like that twxt glover says in his books you can't get a smooth first cross. what a load of bxxxxcks seen plenty.
my type of rabbiting these days. little dog single Jill inside coat and 8 or 9 nets. ferreting where dog marks picking up one's and twos but still enjoying it.
I agree with you and I don't want to start a argument but lamped rabbits are easier. by this I mean how many times have you seen lamped rabbits turn back into the field from hedge or stonewall? in the day they go through the hedge or over the wall. all you top lampers don't shoot me I am not knocking your dogs.
I have always said half cross. just right for 25 yard dashes. seem to lack a gear on longer runs. I am going three quarters to add a bit more pace but will I lose a bit in nose and cover work? only one way to find out. I wouldn't have anything else for general mooching about. then again I have no interest in anything bigger than a rabbit or pheasant.
