    Grab lad finally turned up, 3 hours late, these tw*ts are like the plumbers of the ground work world, never turn up when they say they will, charge to much and there’s always a fu*king problem, said he couldn’t get in because of the phone line, then proper spat his dummy out when I ask him if he wanted me to do it for him ( tw*t )

    Mate said to me, did I want to do a concrete driveway with him, ok, expecting it to be rural, no, in the middle of a town. Who wants a concrete driveway at your house, no resin, gravel or blocks, just concrete, pulled the old driveway up and there’s nothing under it, just clay, this is going to be a headache, I can feel it

    Stroganoff from yesterday’s leftover beef, it was absolutely lovely and got the thumbs up from the missus, so that’s another one to add to the list of things she’ll eat

    Mates just sent me this, from the minute I pressed play it took me straight back to a rave in the basement of a pub, middle of winter in Stanley ( Durham) think it will of been 93/94 we used to all chip in, find someone who had a building we could use, bung them a few quid and have a party, good times, I’m not so sure about the music anymore but it was amazing back then

    No, we went all civilised today all sat around the table, they don’t get much of an outing now the front room has been decorated and she still hasn’t spilled anything on the carpet yet, so I don’t eat in there because there’s no way I can be the first

    We’ve got one of the missus mates staying with us so I had to get the posh plates out and not pile it high like a normal Sunday

    They are a joke, they can ask as many questions as they like and you can give the most ridiculous answers and the law says they still have to give you it. I renewed my mortgage last year and had 20k in cash to pay off it, obviously couldn’t pay it in cash so had to put it in the joint account and do a transfer, they allowed me to pay it in then the questions about where it came from started, told them it’s none of their business and to release it to the mortgage company which they said they couldn’t until they knew where it was from in case of money laundering, so I said “ just give me it back

    All that was in the fridge was half a cauliflower, an onion and a few tomatoes so I’ve made a roast cauliflower curry and it was delicious

    Just rattling around the house this afternoon so I thought I’d do something nice for tea made a chicken and mushroom pie with garlic and thyme roast new spuds and a Prosecco, cream and stock sauce ( gravy) it was bloody lovely

    Put them on a few jobs if the customer wants them, these didn’t want them, I don’t know why because they finish the job off, I always put them on if it’s for friends or family, I don’t even ask

    Gate built and fitted, few more boards up, that’s me done until Tuesday now

    Fence today, all hand digging through tree roots, not what I wanted to be doing on my birthday and in 25 degrees with no shade but you have to make hay while the sun shines as they say

    Little garden job finished apart from going back to grout it, I was done by 12 so thought I’d remove the old grout from the other paving and do the whole lot when I go back, it will make a much tidier job for the sake of another tub, not what I would of done with it but I suppose it won’t take any looking after

    Black bird is my favourite too, this time of year they wake me up every morning and there’s no better way, I’m listening to a great tit now along with a few others, there’s no other noise other than bird song where I am now and it’s lovely

    Crazy all the different names, I was down the in- laws over the weekend and father-in-law was enjoying some “ hippie crippler” an AK47 crossed with something else apparently, a very apt name as I’m sure he’ll of crippled a few hippies in his day

    Quick little job for the next two days, strip the grass off, little sleep bed, bit of patio and some gravel to go down tomorrow
