  1. Bonus that, now you have all the gear it’s your duty to abandon your family and spend all weekend out on the hunt, day and night, if your better half has anything to say about that tell her to give me a ring and I will set her straight for you ? ive just thought, she hasn’t got my number, I’m sure you can deal with it ?
  2. I have no problem with getting rid of single use plastics, I haven’t used plastic wads for years now and if they can get the price of the eco wads down and make bio degradable cases I would definitely use them ( or go back to paper ) but to try and ban lead is f*cking nuts, people feeding ducks bread kills more than lead shot does, unless it’s coming at them at speed
  3. What do you think, have you ever seen him smile ? with your new gear, it will look like I’ve just taken you out of your rapper next time we are out ?
  4. Lovely that, I know the weather is still terrible and we are expecting snow but you can still see things starting to come to life, it’s nice to get a break in the weather to enjoy some early season sunshine ?
  5. Cracking result mr sausage, I’ve never seen foxes working together to ambush rabbits, It would of been interesting to see if they made it work, but when the opportunity to take the shot appears you know what you have to do ?
  6. Well I thought I’d give the sheep farm another go tonight, now the wind was still mental but at least it wasn’t raining, tonight I took little Hugo’s dad with me, I gave him the chance to shoot as he has had a couple of misses lately and needed to redeem himself, I even let him use his chopstick shooting sticks, On arrival I noticed that a group of ewes and lambs had been moved to the top field as this is the driest place on the farm, so that’s where we headed, getting to the top of the field it was a few seconds before we spotted the fox heading at a good pace along the track towards the lamb
  7. Woo woo, just think you can spend all day lambing and then all night waiting for the gingers, you will never see your family again
  8. They are not cheap, at about £120 I got it to go with a night vision scope when I finally make my mind up what I’m doing It goes back about another 15’ where the pens are with the lamps, that’s probably the smallest one, I think there’s only 14 ewes in there, there’s another 4 next to that and massive shad the other side of the yard, the also have a round house in the middle of the yard that used to have about 40 beast in it and they use that as well, they are well into it now with a fair few tucked up against the hedge backs trying to keep out the wind and rain last night
  9. After getting a phone call from the sheep farm informing me that a fox had been spotted in with the lambs I told him I’d be up tonight, now the wind is strong but we can deal with that, so I picked up longshanx and headed to the farm, on arrival we noticed that the wind had got stronger and it had started to rain, by the time we got to the top field the rain was heavy and sideways so we tucked up behind a hedge and gave it half an hour with the mouth caller, by this time the wind and rain was mental so that was the end of that, back to the car, I stopped off at the lambing sheds to tell the fa
  10. That’s quality service, I hope whoever swiped yours at the show is so well camouflaged in the field that the farmer doesn’t see him and squashes the tw*t with his tractor ? ?
  11. Cracking pictures almost makes me want to take a couple of kids hostage just so I can take them out shooting ??
  12. Nice work sausage, good to see someone is managing to get out in a his weather ?
  13. A cracking result, they have shy’d off the mating call up this way, we’ll hopefully be up at the sheep farm this week giving the lost lamb call it’s first outing ?
  14. That is a beautiful place, I really do need to broaden my horizons and start taking shooting trips to other countries ??
  15. The one I’ve got on the side of mine is an 840, I would of thought the inbuilt one in the long ones spotter will be the same, I’m going to stick the laser on because that doesn’t seem to bother them
  16. That looks amazing, I’m always interested to see how people hunt in other countries, we don’t shoot birds with rifles often in England, if we do we use small calibres, we use .308 for deer, sometimes on fox, what else do you hunt?
  17. Good stuff, completely different to anything we do over here, what calibre rifle do you use for the capercaillie ?
  18. The more I think about it, I was a little tw*t, now my nephews just ask for money and get it, we had to be a bit more enterprising about how we came by our cash
  19. Hahaha, we did that to, Newcastle brown ale bottles, olde English cider and lowcocks pop bottles, hop over the back wall and pass them to your mate, you could do about 3 quid on a good day, another one around our way was people would put the money for the milkman in an empty bottle on the doorstep for him to collect on his rounds
  20. When we were kids we used to do the same, there was a course not far from us and on one of the holes they had to take a shot over what they would call a lake, we used to hide in the bushes and when they were out of sight we’d run out and grab them and watch them looking for them, we’d hang around the club house and sell them to other golfers, £2 for 10 and tell them we got them out the lake ? we were the richest kids in the street ?
  21. Arrr, golf, the perfect way to spoil a good walk, the lad who is our shoot captain and who I work for, plays golf with his father in law, dressing like Ronnie Corbett and smacking a little ball down a field before going after it has never done it for me
  22. I’m the same, I’ve been shooting a long time now and have never seemed to get any better, I still get over excited when I pull the trigger and something falls out the sky
  23. From what I’ve seen everything sees 850 and 940 ir, I’ve got a laser ir and nothing seems to notice that, not been technical I have no idea why that is
  24. The best one around here is thimbleby, it’s not that far from guisborough if he comes the back of stokesley onto the A19 south, they are a proper clay ground with proper instructors, I think they have started doing simulated game there now as well
  25. They just wizz past, but it makes you jump every time even though you know its coming He should book himself a lesson, a good instructor will keep him right, sometimes a bit of tape on a pair of glasses is all it needs, I’m right handed and left eye dominant, I can’t shoot right handed at all, I can’t even mount a gun right handed, even rifles, I can’t close my left eye without the right one closing but I can close the the right and the left will stay open, weird, I know
