    I had a do up the sheep farm last night and the fog was crazy, we seen 2 foxes through the thermal but couldn’t get a shot at them with the fog been so bad, the NV was a no go with the ir white out, so just stuck with the lamp and old scope, but needed to get them in to about 70 ish yards to get any eye shine, with a bit of look we’ll have some clear nights this week

    Feeding time again and it’s poring down and foggy but we’ve got to keep these birds happy for another 4 weeks ?

    It shoots the cheap hornady I got ok, I used them to zero it and was getting 1” ish group at 100 yards, tried some sako 50gn and it shot them a little better but they are 27 quid a box

    I just can’t make that shagging vixen sound no matter how hard I try ? most of the time when I’m out on my own I use a mouth call to good effect, I still can’t use one of them metal hare whistles though, I just end up spitting all over myself

    The last couple of outings a pray call has produced nothing as soon as we switched to vixen in heat, bingo, I had one running in the other night and the lad I was with switched the call to fox bark and it stopped in its tracks then shot off in the opposite direction ? the whopper

    Well first day over and the last for at least 5 weeks, we were light on beaters and guns today as it was a last minute thing but we made the best of it. It was a bit different with the social distancing and no stopping at 11, but it didn’t put to much of a dampener on things, the drive before lunch produced some lovely birds with my sheep farmer mate Mosh in the thick of it, bagging himself 10 birds on that drive, he was in the action on the last drive of the day, taking another 8, I didn’t think they would fly very well today with no wind but they did fly well for most of the drives, I had a
