  1. I too shoot a tikka t3x light in .223 left handed ( the way proper lads shoot ? ) it’s my night time fox rifle, also have the same rifle in .243 stainless for day time foxes and deer, both rifle are a pleasure to shoot and the .223 is cheaper to feed than the .243 with factory ammo
  2. Good job ? will you hit 150 before Christmas ???
  3. He has sent me some clips this morning, I’m impressed with the shotkam clips, how he slows it down so you can see the shot placement and the birds fold
  4. He asked if he could film his shooting and I said he could, most of its shotkam and him filming himself shooting
  5. That’s frank the pheasant, we use him for species identification so the less experienced guns know what to look for ? I don’t know about that, he did film some of his shooting so he might put some of that in a video
  6. Another shoot day and what a day it was, as this is looking more and more like it was going to be the last day of the season, from the start we were going to make the most of it. Today along with the usual suspects we had my 3 favourite shooting mate with me, in the form of mosh the sheep farmer, longshanx and robin foxer ( off that there YouTube) as I’ve been getting the shoot into some kind of order over the past two weeks I ran through the plan of attack with the shoot captain, his finishing statement was “ they better be where you say they are or your getting the blame “, charming. The fir
  7. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this amount of squizzers up at the shoot, it doesn’t matter where you are walking they run across the tracks and rides in front of you Out the back of where I used to work you would get 10’s of thousands of them all in a murmuration, amazing to watch
  8. Mad as a bag of squirrels ? good going on the tree rats ?
  9. Are you sure they are not just friends ?
  10. I’ll have 5 quid on the goose ? ?
  11. Biggest I’ve had in recent times was this old dog, head shot it running ( well trotting), though I’d shot an Alsatian when I went to pick it up, picture doesn’t really do it justice ?
  12. With a bit of luck we will be back to some kind of normality by summer 2021 but there’s no doubt we have a few dark months ahead of us yet, it’s more the social side of the game shooting I miss, having to cancel people’s days is sh*t, so far I’ve only had to cancel Benbhoy’s day ( that will be rearranged) and if we go into lockdown again I’m going to have to cancel my uncle and his partner, which will be sh*t because they have never shot driven game before and both of them were looking forward to it, something a bit different from their clay competitions
  13. I used to do something similar around the pens but haven’t bothered over the past few years, I shot more than 40 just around the farm last year, I keep threatening to have a squzzer day for the kids at the end of the shooting season but never get round to it, maybe now I’ve got a bit more time I’ll organise something for them
  14. Hand feeding again this morning ahead of tomorrow’s shoot and my god it’s wet, I managed to get the bike stuck twice, the birds are concentrated in 3 drives ( Gordon’s pen and both sides of the piggeries) with a few small drivers to fill the day in and a bit of luck it should be a good day. With the way Ireland and the sheep bothering nation have announced further lockdowns after Christmas there’s a chance that this could be the last day of the season . I had a little big game hunting while I was up there, taking down 6 tree beasts, I’m going to have to put a couple of feeders out for them,
  15. The only potential problem is if someone stakes a claim to them, because in the eyes of the law they are property, but if they are on his land it shouldn’t be a problem
  16. Did they come with the property? Do they stay on his land or have they become a bit feral and spend time in other locations on other land
  17. As far as I know, if he owns the land that they are on then he can do whatever he wants with them, right time of year to take them
  18. I can see that lot coming to us after Christmas ?
  19. Back up at the shoot at first light to feed and it’s another filthy wet day, the birds are looking sorry for themselves and are mostly hunkered down in the deep cover, there was a good show of birds around the farm ( Gordon’s pen drive ) and the new feed areas I’ve put out over the far side ( piggeries drive) seem to be holding the birds well. With a bit of luck Saturday will be a good day and we can make the most of our Christmas shoot because who knows if we will be able to have days in January after the Christmas super spreading
  20. A trip up to the shoot tonight on fox patrol, it was looking like a good night for it, clear sky, no moon and a stiff breeze, or so I thought. See absolutely sod all, no foxes, no deer, no hares, very strange ? seen only 2 rabbits, so out of frustration I let one have it with the.223, it was very clear and dark so I had 20 minutes watching the sky and the shooting star’s so not a totally wasted evening ?
  21. That’s because everyone is welcome here, even BenBhoy ?
  22. Bit off topic but I’ve just seen derv’s post and had a flick through the thread, 102 pages of mostly mindless nonsense ? well done lads ?
