I normally do sloe gin but didn’t get any last year to do it for this year so though I’d give bramble a go because it only takes about 6 weeks

Love a jacket spud, just cheese and black pepper for me though ?
-
Chicken saag, without doubt the best I’ve ever made, griddle panned the chicken until it was almost black, really made a difference ? and a big corned beef and potato pasty ( pie not in a dish ) so that’s my bait sorted for half the week

Good read that, to go with my tea and flapjack ?

Bramble gin on the go for a shoot day ?
-
I’m going to need a cup of tea to go with this one, but I know it will be good so you can have a thumbs up ?

Up at the shoot again last night and the weather has certainly changed, first time I had to put my winter jacket on, we were quite late when we arrived so it was a quick couple of rabbits around the farm and then straight over the piggeries ( tree side ) for a call. Moving position twice after only seeing pigs it was a good hour before I noticed a fox along the edge of the oilseed rape, with the caller on pheasant distress it entered the rape, disappearing from time to time, when it reached the middle of the field it stopped and seemed to sit, my mate was on the rifle and said “ should I have

This is what I’ve been missing, nice one Bernard ? -
at a guess I’d say deer, sheep is very similar to deer but the top is more rounded on a sheep where deer are pointed

I have an uncle that’s called long pockets, everyone says his pockets are to deep so he can’t reach his cash to pay for anything ?
-
To be fair I like it all, probably because I’m from up north and to us there’s not much better than free food ?
-
It’s on my list of hunting experiences for the next 12 months, an animal as fine as that would be nice but to be honest I be happy with any, everyone I know who has eaten it has said it’s the finest venison around ?
-
That’s a cracker, I’m obsessed with them, probably because we don’t have them up here, a few weeks ago when I was in Lincolnshire they were everywhere, the 2 lads I was out with don’t shoot them, I couldn’t get my head around that

That’s some cannon that, looking forward to seeing some pheasant action in the coming weeks ?
-
All hail the legend that is Bernard Sausage ?? great to see you back, hope you are well and stick around for the game season with your front stuffer action ?

You may of mentioned it once or twice, don’t worry, I’ve made up for your shortcomings by owning 2 of them ? when I put my first application in, it was just for .22lr ( because that’s all I had experience of ) and was granted almost straight away, a few months later I wanted something for fox and a lad I knew said you want a .243. So put in for that and got it, an FEO at the time said are you going to use it for deer, I said no, he said tell them you are and they will give you it ( different times) quite recently I know someone who applied and was refused, with no reason given, when

I’ve just been having a look at reloading gear, my heads hurting now ?
-
I’ve never bothered with rolling my own, I know a few that do but it was always a geek thing years ago, now it’s a financial thing and something I’m going to have to take a look at

That’s crazy, the last one I bought were £13 for 50, normally where I was at today stocks Hornady, Winchester, Remington and CCI in .17hmr, he said all they have had in the last 2 months was 2000 Hornady that lasted a day, I’ve just had a look online and locally to me they have all gone up, some by as much as £5 a box

4 for 6 quid at Asda ?

Autumn has finally arrived, the leaves are on the turn and although it was still 10 degrees when I got to the shoot at 8:45 this morning there was definitely a noticeable change in the weather, the birds at the forestry pen are still not straying to far, which is a first for here as normally it’s a nightmare keeping them, as for Gordon’s pen, Jesus, that lot are off roost and out for the day, when I got into the yard and looked out over the back field there was easily 150 birds on it, luckily they seem to know where they live and according to the old girl they head back towards the pen around
