  1. My view was very similar to that for 25 years, until one day I thought I’m sick of engine’s, gearboxes and always been covered in oil and diesel, so sacked it off ( I was originally an auto elec, then started doing more chemical tanker work and hgv work ) I prefer been outside now, even if the weathers a bit sh*t ?
  2. New job today, turn a waste bit of land into a horse arena, first job to get the drainage in ?
  3. Tuesday- chicken and mushroom pasta Wednesday- mid week chicken winner
  4. It’s a shame you are not closer to me, I’d let shoot a front stuffer on my shoot, I think it’s something I’d like to see ?

It would have to be a red one just like the one I had when I was 18, No furry dice but I might had a Garfield to stuck to a window ? I’ve trimmed my pubes if that counts for cutting hair ?

I’m 44 and I’d have another mk2 xr2 tomorrow, as long as I could find my rave tapes and get hold of a 12” sub and some 6x9”s ?

They all do it, Vauxhall use Peugeot/Citroen/fiat, Volvo used to use Renault, Land Rover used Ford and BMW, jaguar’s old 2.0 diesel was just a Ford mondeo engine and so on

The older S3’s are starting to do good money now, obviously they need to be standard and low mileage, a lad I know has a really low mileage s3 mk1, I think its on a S plate, he works for Audi and they offered him 28k for it as a showroom car but he won’t sell it, he said if you have the money the ones to hang onto now are like the missus 67 plate blue one, really low mileage and with some nice extras like hers been the black edition

I used to love the old wedge shape Type-R only car I’ve ever driven that you could lift a back wheel off the ground going around a corner my missus chopped the white S3 in a few weeks ago and wanted a new RS3 but it would be completely wasted on her, she never driven the S3 even in sport mode, so she went for a new A5 cabriolet edition 1, not a quick car but like driving an armchair ?

Yeah, they are definitely of there time, the whole Ford thing still has a massive following, 3 or 4 years ago a lad I know sold a series 1 turbo for 36k and a 1995 escort cosworth for 80k and took early retirement in his mid 50’s, we used to do all sorts to them trying to get as much power out of them as we could and thought they were fast, even the cosworth is sh*t compared to what my missus has been driving for the last few years, these will be the next collectors car

I loved the fast fords, I’ve had them all, 2nd car was an E reg mk2 XR2 when I was 18, I used to drive it like a tw*t, I’ve also had, fiesta turbo, escort xr3, xr3i and RS Turbo and saf cossie, this is the one I wish I still had, MK1 absolutely untouched and mint, you can see my 93 RS 2000 in the back, now that was a bag of sh*t
  13. I hope so ? I’ve put some graft into it this year I’m happy if I can put some good birds over the guns, up there the amount of birds you see to the amount shot can be poles apart, all comes down to who they go over, for example, if it goes over my mate Mosh there’s a good chance it’s going to die on the other hand, if it’s over me I like to think I’ve given it a fighting chance ?
  14. There’s always someone who wants something out of something they are not involved in one of my drives ( oak wood ) has a boundary with next door and we put walking guns on their field to follow the beaters up shooting at anything that goes back over, next doors keeper hates this but the land owner doesn’t want to upset our landlady because he no doubt makes to much money farming her land, another reason the keeper hates it is it’s his birds we are shooting at ?
  15. Well my birds are getting there, hopefully they’ll will have tailed up probably by the time we come to shoot, 2 weeks on Saturday, they are hammering the feed and I’ve managed to pull a few more in a bit further out to where the majority of our shooting takes place, the only place that seems a bit light on birds is the 2 piggeries drives, but this is to be expected as the forestry pen feeds these drives and that pen is 200 birds light this season, I am starting to see more every time I go up and I’m pulling a few into the tree side by feeding up the hedge backs so with a bit of luck they will
  16. We have a good number of natives up at the shoot but don’t shoot them until after Christmas allowing the migrants to settle in a bit, a lot of the guns don’t shoot at them and that’s fine, some do and we have a couple of members that like to eat them, that’s fine too, I will shoot them late in the season, they are unbelievably fast through the trees and a real test, I won’t shoot at them going across a field but that’s just me
  17. 30 tonne of 20mm limestone chipping down and rolled, tidy enough, just need to talk him out of resining the full place next year now
  18. You’d have no problem knocking a Russian tank out with a .22, I’ve been watching some videos of the Ukrainian drones and they are blowing the tanks up with what are basically fireworks ?
  19. Mince and onion pie yesterday and roast beef today, I’ve got a lemon sponge in the over for later with a cup of tea ?
  20. My mate asked if I’d go up to his farm this evening as he’d seen a fox in the yard, so I got there around 7 where I was met by him and his dad, well, it turned out that there was some terrier lads having a dig on his land without permission so that was the first thing to be sorted, now I won’t go into it because here isn’t the place, but what a complete bunch of disrespectful tw*ts, if you are told no then accept it and move on, anyway, after that carry on my mate said he’d stay out with me so we headed to the far side of the farm, no need for the caller, I spotted heat the other side of
  21. We get absolutely tortured by them up at the shoot, it’s rare that I don’t come across someone where they shouldn’t be, summer is the worst with the caravan site next to the piggeries, once I was up there with Hugo’s dad just after combine and there was a group of teenagers running around in the field we were having a call in, they didn’t know we were there so I turned the caller off and waited hoping they would fu*k off, then for some reason only know to him, my mate lit them up with his lamp ? well, they all ran around screaming, I had to go to the campsite reception to explain what had happ
  22. There was a lot of road kill up there today, I turn off to go to the shoot at the Wass/Ampleforth junction ( if you ever go that way towards Helmsley you pass a field on your left and when the trees start that’s my shoot right down to the little caravan park ) and that little patch of grass is where the fallow like to jump into the traffic, there’s always at least one dead a week on that corner
  23. This weather needs to sort itself out, rained for days then 16 degrees today the birds don’t know what’s going on, the cocks are out on the rides fighting and younger birds are heading out far and wide i’m seeing a lot of tree rats around the feeders now the natural feed is disappearing, so the little.22 got an outing and I managed 5 of the buggers, it’s taking longer to complete my rounds now as I’m feeding right throughout the shoot, even feeding well away from the main drives, trying to create some smaller fill in drives by drawing a few birds in ?
  24. This week I have mostly been playing with concrete, cobbles and type 1 little concrete pad for a wheelie bin shed, cobble edging for flower beds and grade off the yard and put down 40 tonne of type 1, rolled ready for gravel on Monday. Mad thing is it’s just to tidy it up until the shed is replaced ( with a family entertaining building ??) then he want the whole yard doing in resin, my mate worked out at about 70k to prep and resin it ? people might be struggling with bills but there’s definitely still money out there
  25. Last night, sausage, mash and onion gravy tonight, chicken casserole with dumpling ?
