Usual stressful day in work so got home walked mutt and add hour shooting. Started with the compound, so easy compared to traditional bare bow shooting.

Had one for years , enjoy wilfey

All groups at 10 meters

Just ad an hour in sun learning to shoot traditional bow no sights. Bought a new string and string silencer and fitted sum female Velcro as well. Shooting very quiet now. My aiming point for the arrow tip is the fishing rod bit on the astroturf and aiming that much under hits the target, it’s called 3 finger under gap shooting. I av got rid of fishing rod now and av a reference point on bow. Am slowly getting there but it’s hard work, the compound bow is a hell of a lot easier lol. But overall am no Robin Hood/ William Tell but am pleased with my progress and groupings tbh.

Pleased with the shots and consistency at 10 meters .

Was up early as usual so decided to have a practice in dark under my head torch. Was shooting a beer can at 10 meters . Was good fun and enjoyed it, was bit different to aim with torch light on forks, but got used to it . Just waiting for daybreak then out with the catty and dog for a mooch .

I had 2 great grandfathers one was a spitfire pilot and the other one was a taxidermist and were my love for nature and field sports came in. This is a true story, my granddad got lifted by the old bill and interviewed over the moors murders who were still at large, as the bin men found bones in the bin and contacted the police. The bones were actually off a large non feral cat. But I can't remember what cat it was. He got released and it all got cleared up. Also he was friendly with an old zoo keeper who gifted him a dead crocodile which my grandad mounted and gifted to our local museum. I ha

Not like back in the old days stiff. When roadsiding big stuff up your way or on scotch side. I've shuffled em down my wellies , down my bollocks and even lobbed em out the van window lol.

Yeah a Black Hunter recurve mate, only about £66 off aliexpress. I got 40lb and 25lb limbs. Been getting a bit of gyp in my shoulder and also figured I'd teach myself better form with 25lb limbs. What does cutting thread off do and it's this shooting to the left am struggling to sort out.

Them cheap Chinese triangle bow I got was only about 20od inches A2A and I reckon would take pretty much anything up to 20 yds
-
Ignore that lol axle 2 axle lol another nooby mistake lol
-
Got a guy who comes in my business going to take me after hours to his archery club to look at mine on a bow press and hopefully fix it , if not was cheap as chips and will just buy another. Is A2A a make of bow ?

I de railed the compound by a fuktard idiot nooby mistake by accidentally dry firing ffs while messing with it. But tbh I’ve got the bug to learn bare bow off the shelf shooting. I think a lot more skill and have to get closer to quarry . Also in a hypothetical situation of needing a bow to secure food or large prey a take down recurve much easier to conceal in a bag then a compound and only takes minutes to assemble. Also if a member of the public seen you , would probably think a harmless Robin Hood nut job wandering about . We’re as with a compound it’s a big thing to get on and off land a

But the slingbows are a different kettle of fish and am deffo getting there with accuracy. 2 lots of groupings at 10 meters . Am well happy with that !
-
Since I derailed my compound bow and broke it, I’ve been concentrating on bare bow traditional archery with no sights. Started of string walking and wasn’t for me , tried split finger and settled on 3 under. I can consistently hit the target at 10 metres but I shoot left all the time. Tried swapping spines on arrows to no luck. The compounds are a lot lot easy and accurate compared to bare bow. It’s a rabbit hole I’ve gone down with this . But am trier and won’t give up !!!

Good idea that mate, cheers

Deadpool wolverine, wasn't bad. Not as good as original, but not bad. That's me Barry Norman saying goodnight

About 12 years ago I stopped paying mine. Still get odd letter through lol, just get filed in the log burner .

Enjoyed that wolfie cheers, I am trying out different spines too, between the slingbow and compound

Just watched this, don’t know to put the link up

These are cold steel polymer plastic ones. Compound shoots em fine and the slingbow does, but one goes off now and again. It’s a learning curve this lot, but enjoying the ride and de stress from work.
-
These are just crap and the slingbow can’t even fire them in a straight line lol. And with the compound they shoot off centre, look the part but cheap crap.
-
These 2 are by far the most accurate with the slingbow, and get consistent ish accuracy with them .
-
Was just having a mess around with broadheads. They seem to alter the flight path some heads. The slingbow is very sensitive to them and it really alters my accuracy, we’re as the compound is more tolerant probably due to far greater speed and power I would imagine. And some of them wreck my foam target getting them out , but all good fun plinking. Must say these are all cheap Chinese broadheads apart from the cold steel poly plastic ones.
